Educational Songwriter / Rap Artist for EdTech Content
Worldwide
We are an EdTech tutoring platform focused on equity in standardized test preparation seeking a creative songwriter, rapper, musician, or recording artist to transform academic concepts into engaging, memorable music for middle and high school students. We want to create original educational music that students would actually want to listen to—not traditional children's songs or generic educational jingles. You will collaborate with our academic and content teams to turn test-prep strategies, formulas, vocabulary, grammar rules, and other educational concepts into catchy songs, hooks, and raps that help students understand and remember what they're learning. Responsibilities Write original educational songs, lyrics, hooks, and raps based on academic content provided by our team. Turn complex concepts into catchy, easy-to-remember lyrics. Create music that feels current, engaging, and culturally relevant to middle and high school students. Collaborate with our curriculum team to ensure all lyrics are academically accurate. Develop songs around topics such as ACT/SAT strategies, math formulas, grammar rules, reading strategies, science concepts, and other academic subjects. Help establish a recognizable musical style and sound for our educational content. Contribute ideas for incorporating music into our curriculum, app, social media, and educational videos. Record vocals and/or collaborate with producers and other artists when needed. Ideal Candidate We're looking for someone with experience in one or more of the following areas: songwriting, rap/hip-hop, recording, performing, music production, or educational content creation. You should have strong lyric-writing and storytelling skills, an understanding of current music and youth culture, and the ability to take an academic concept and turn it into something memorable, entertaining, and educational without sounding forced or childish. Experience creating music for Gen Z/Gen Alpha audiences, brands, educational organizations, or digital content is a plus. To Apply Please include: Links or samples of songs, lyrics, performances, or music you've created. A brief description of your role in each sample (songwriter, vocalist, producer, etc.). Any examples that demonstrate your ability to tell a story, explain a concept, or create memorable hooks. Whether you can write only, write + perform, or write + perform + produce.
