Email Marketing Manager — Klaviyo (Calendar, Build & Flow Performance)
Worldwide
We are a small e-commerce agency. We are hiring one person to own a client's entire email programme end to end — the strategy, the monthly calendar, the build in Klaviyo, and the performance of the flows. To be clear about what this is not: this is not an email design job. The templates already exist. The brand guidelines, the ICPs, the SKU rules and a library of briefs already exist. We do not need someone to make things prettier. We need someone who decides what gets sent, why, to whom, and then proves whether it worked. You would start with one client, a kids and baby products brand on Shopify with an established Klaviyo account. Two more email clients are in the pipeline. The role grows to three. THE WORK A monthly rhythm, repeated per client: - Week 1 — research. What is selling, what the client wants pushed, what competitors are doing. - Week 2 — strategy and calendar. Roughly 12 campaigns a month, spaced so sales do not stack, each with a stated purpose and audience. - Week 3 — adapt the existing templates into the actual emails. - Week 4 — build, schedule and publish in Klaviyo. QA before send. - Then a post-mortem against the numbers. Alongside the campaign calendar you own every flow in the account — welcome, abandoned browse and cart, post-purchase, winback, points and loyalty. Owning them means knowing what each one is actually producing, not what Klaviyo claims it produced. THE PART MOST PEOPLE GET WRONG Klaviyo's attributed revenue is not incremental revenue. A flow that fires the moment somebody subscribes will get credit for purchases that were already in flight. We have measured this on our own account: a welcome series carrying five figures of attributed revenue turned out to be almost entirely capturing sales the popup had already earned, in the same session. When the flow went dark for twenty days, the purchase rate did not fall. If you read a Klaviyo dashboard as truth, you will spend a year optimising things that do not matter. We want someone who is suspicious of their own reporting. WHAT YOU WOULD OWN - The monthly campaign calendar and the reasoning behind it - Adapting existing designed templates into each send - All build and scheduling in Klaviyo, including segmentation and QA - Flow health, flow performance, and the decision to fix, cut or rebuild - A monthly post-mortem the client can read - The client relationship for that account — you are the person they talk to WHAT WE ALREADY GIVE YOU This is not a greenfield build. You inherit a working system: designed templates, a documented brand voice, defined ICPs, product and SKU selection rules, a brief library, a campaign calendar format and a monthly operating rhythm. Your job is to run it and improve it, not invent it. TOOLS Klaviyo (deep, not surface), Shopify, Figma for adapting templates, Google Sheets, Slack, ClickUp. WHAT MATTERS TO US Judgement over volume. A clear reason for every send. Comfort saying "this flow is not working, here is the evidence, here is what I would do." Writing that sounds like the brand and not like an agency. And telling us bad news early. HOW TO APPLY Answer the three screening questions. That is the entire application — no cover letter, no portfolio deck, no generic pitch. We read the answers.
