C++ Engineer — OFDM/OFDMA MAC Implementation (Confidential Broadband Comms Project)

We're a stealth-mode team building a custom broadband wireless waveform and need an experienced C++ engineer to implement the MAC layer for a proprietary OFDM/OFDMA PHY. Important context on the channel: This is not a 3GPP/cellular system. The channel model is wideband, slow-fading, effectively AWGN-like. There will be no multipath, no MIMO, no narrowband interference to contend with. If you've worked on MAC/PHY interfaces for cellular, dense urban Wi-Fi, WiMax, or anything designed around multipath/fading mitigation, that experience is only partially relevant. We're looking for someone comfortable reasoning about a cleaner, high-bandwidth, high-throughput link budget rather than a noisy terrestrial one. Scope: Implement MAC framing, scheduling, and OFDMA resource allocation logic Interface with an existing PHY (simulation and/or hardware-in-the-loop, details under NDA) Target platform: Linux userspace / embedded RTOS Real-time or near-real-time constraints Must have: Strong modern C++ (14/17/20) Hands-on experience with OFDM or OFDMA MAC/PHY interfaces Comfortable working from link-budget and waveform specs, not just protocol RFCs Experience with high-throughput, low-latency systems Nice to have: Background in satellite, point-to-point microwave, or other line-of-sight wideband RF systems SDR tooling experience (GNU Radio, UHD, or custom) Familiarity with scheduling/QoS design for shared-medium access Note: Due to the confidential nature of this project, full technical specs are shared under NDA after initial screening. Please don't ask for architecture details in the proposal — we're evaluating technical judgment and relevant experience at this stage.
