QA Engineer / SDET

We are looking for an experienced QA Engineer / SDET to support active web applications built with PHP, Node.js, and related backend frameworks. This is a full-time role with a strong focus on backend QA, API testing, database validation, regression testing, and release quality. This is not a basic manual QA position. Responsibilities - Test PHP and Node.js application features, bug fixes, and production workflows - Perform functional, regression, integration, and API testing - Test REST APIs using Postman or similar tools - Validate application data directly in MySQL and other relational databases - Test authentication, authorization, sessions, validation, and edge cases - Investigate background jobs, queues, scheduled tasks, asynchronous processing, and caching behavior - Review application and server logs and identify likely root causes - Create clear bug reports with detailed reproduction steps - Test GitHub pull requests and verify fixes before release - Build or maintain automated tests when appropriate Required Skills - Strong QA experience with PHP and/or Node.js web applications - Experience with PHP frameworks such as Yii, CodeIgniter, or similar - Experience with Node.js frameworks or applications, including Meteor.js or similar technologies - REST API testing - Postman - MySQL / SQL - Git / GitHub - Functional and regression testing - Integration testing - Ability to read and understand backend application logic - Strong debugging and troubleshooting ability Preferred Skills - PHPUnit or similar backend testing frameworks - Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium - Redis or other caching/data-store technologies - Automated API testing - CI/CD testing workflows - Experience testing asynchronous and event-driven applications - Previous SDET or backend-focused QA experience Availability Requirements - Must be available for full-time work - Must be able to work during U.S. Eastern Time business hours - Must be available to work through at least 7:00 PM U.S. Eastern Time - Candidates who cannot meet this schedule should not apply English Requirements - English proficiency must be C2 or equivalent near-native professional proficiency - Excellent spoken English is mandatory - Must be able to participate comfortably in technical discussions and client/team meetings in English - English communication ability will be evaluated during the first interview - Candidates below the required English level will not proceed past the first interview When Applying - Describe your QA experience with PHP and/or Node.js applications - List the PHP or Node.js frameworks you have worked with, such as CodeIgniter, Meteor.js, or similar - List the QA and automation tools you have used - Describe your API and database testing experience - Provide your current time zone - Confirm that you are available full-time - Confirm that you can work through 7:00 PM U.S. Eastern Time - Confirm your English proficiency level
