QA Engineer

QA Engineer Job Summary We are looking for a detail-oriented QA Engineer to ensure the quality, reliability, performance, security, and usability of our web and mobile applications. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in manual testing, API testing, database testing, mobile testing, payment gateway testing, debugging, and defect management, along with a solid understanding of software development and QA processes. Key Responsibilities Perform functional and non-functional testing of web and mobile applications. Analyze requirements and identify gaps, ambiguities, edge cases, dependencies, and potential risks. Create and maintain test plans, test scenarios, test cases, checklists, and test data. Execute functional, regression, smoke, sanity, integration, system, end-to-end, exploratory, UI, usability, compatibility, and cross-browser testing. Perform API testing using Postman, Swagger, or similar tools. Validate API request/response data, status codes, error handling, authentication, authorization, and integration behavior. Perform database testing using SQL queries to validate data accuracy, integrity, consistency, and persistence. Verify data consistency between the application frontend, APIs, and database. Perform mobile application testing on Android and iOS devices and emulators. Test applications across different devices, screen sizes, OS versions, browsers, and network conditions. Perform cross-browser testing using Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge. Test Stripe payment gateway integrations, including successful and failed payments, refunds, cancellations, retries, and payment-status updates. Validate payment calculations, discounts, taxes, fees, invoices, transaction records, and payment statuses. Perform end-to-end testing of critical business workflows and user journeys. Validate third-party integrations and external services such as SMS, email, payment, maps, and communication services. Use browser and mobile Developer Tools, application logs, network traces, and API responses to investigate and troubleshoot issues. Identify, reproduce, investigate, and document application defects. Collaborate with developers to diagnose issues, clarify expected behavior, and verify fixes. Report and track defects using JIRA or similar defect-management tools. Create clear defect reports containing reproduction steps, expected and actual results, environment details, severity/priority, screenshots, videos, logs, and relevant evidence. Perform regression testing after bug fixes, releases, configuration changes, and feature enhancements. Conduct staging/release validation and post-deployment sanity testing. Perform basic security testing, including authentication, authorization, access control, input validation, session handling, and common application-security checks. Maintain accurate documentation of test execution, defects, test coverage, risks, and release status. Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and collaborate closely with Product Managers, Developers, Designers, and other stakeholders. Proactively identify production risks and recommend improvements to product quality and QA processes. Required Skills & Qualifications Good understanding of SDLC and STLC. Strong understanding of manual testing and functional/non-functional testing. Hands-on experience with web application testing. Hands-on experience with mobile application testing on Android and/or iOS. Good knowledge of SQL and database testing. Working knowledge of API testing using Postman, Swagger, or similar tools. Experience with JIRA or similar defect-management tools. Strong understanding of regression, smoke, sanity, integration, system, end-to-end, and exploratory testing. Understanding of payment gateway testing, preferably Stripe. Familiarity with browser and mobile Developer Tools and application logs. Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Good understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies. Strong attention to detail and ability to identify edge cases and potential production risks. Excellent communication, collaboration, and documentation skills. Good to Have Basic knowledge of automation testing and familiarity with automation frameworks. Basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines and release processes. Knowledge of security testing concepts. Experience testing third-party integrations such as SMS, email, payment gateways, maps, and communication services. Familiarity with Git and basic development workflows.
