English Reading Evaluation Task

We are looking for English teachers to complete a reading evaluation task. You will listen to adult learners of English reading provided words, phrases, and sentences. All speakers are L2 English speakers. Your role is to assess each recording as if the speaker were a student in your adult English class. For each recording, you will answer the following: 1. Would you correct the student? Select: • Yes • No Answer based on whether you, as their English teacher, would normally correct the student while they are reading aloud. 2. Which word(s) would you correct? This question applies when you select Yes. • If the recording contains only one word, you do not need to fill in this field. Selecting “Yes” means you would correct that word. • For a phrase or sentence, enter the specific word or words you would correct. • If there are multiple words, separate them with commas. • If you would correct the entire phrase or sentence, write "whole phrase" or "whole sentence." 3. Comment You may add a short comment if you would like to provide feedback to the student. This field is optional. Important Please evaluate each recording as you naturally would when teaching an adult L2 English learner. Base each decision only on the recording you hear and the provided text.   Workload and Compensation You will evaluate 10 adult L2 English learners. Each student has approximately 200 recordings, ranging from individual words to phrases and sentences. • Estimated time per student: 30–45 minutes • Estimated total time: approximately 5–7.5 hours • Compensation: $30 per student • Total fixed payment: $300 • Estimated equivalent rate: approximately $40–$60 per hour, depending on completion time. Eligibility Requirements Please apply only if both of the following apply to you: • You currently work in education or teaching (for example, as a teacher, lecturer, instructor, or tutor). • English is your first/native language.
