Excel/VBA Recipe Database & Costing Workbook for Culinary Business

Required functionality: One attractive Recipe Entry form Fields for: Recipe Name Category Subcategory Yield Ingredients Amount Unit Preparation/ingredient notes Method/instructions Chef's notes Make-ahead instructions Storage instructions Reheating instructions Dropdown lists for Category, Subcategory and Units I need to be able to easily add/edit options in those dropdown lists myself. A Save Recipe & New button that: permanently saves the current recipe assigns it a unique recipe ID saves all ingredients and instructions associated with that recipe adds the recipe to a searchable Recipe Index clears ONLY the entered recipe information preserves all formatting, formulas and dropdowns immediately prepares the form for the next recipe A Recipe Index showing all saved recipes Ability to select/open an existing recipe from the index Ability to edit an existing recipe and save the changes without creating a duplicate Ability to duplicate an existing recipe as a starting point for a new recipe Search/filter recipes by name, category and subcategory Confirmation before deleting a recipe Ideally an Edit Recipe / Update Recipe button as well as Save Recipe & New Recipe costing is also important. I will eventually have 30+ recipes and need the workbook to support food costing. I would like an ingredient-price database where I can enter/update supplier pricing (Costco, restaurant suppliers, grocery stores, etc.), package size and unit cost. The workbook should then calculate: ingredient cost per recipe total recipe cost cost per serving/unit suggested selling price based on a target food-cost percentage or markup ability to update an ingredient price once and have recipes using that ingredient update automatically Technical requirements: Must work reliably in Microsoft Excel for Mac Macro-enabled .xlsm is acceptable VBA/macros must be clean and stable No ActiveX controls or Windows-only functionality Workbook should not generate Excel repair/corruption warnings Data should be stored in proper Excel tables/database sheets rather than creating a separate worksheet for every recipe Existing saved recipes/data must not be overwritten when a new recipe is entered I need to be able to enter hundreds of recipes over time I do not need a fancy printable recipe page built into Excel. My priority is a reliable recipe database, entry system and costing tool. I can handle recipe printing/design separately. I will provide my current Excel workbook so you can see the fields, categories, units, branding and general layout I have been using. Please only apply if you have strong Excel VBA/database experience and have built similar data-entry/database workbooks. In your proposal, please explain how you would structure the recipe database and confirm that your solution works in Excel for Mac. I would also like the finished workbook to include brief instructions so I understand how to add categories/units, update ingredient prices, back up the database and use the Save/Edit functions.
