Exceptional Product & Brand Designer - Bring a New Physical Party Game to Life
Worldwide
Provide the illustration, branding and design to a brand-new physical party game. We're a US-based consumer products company behind one of the fastest-growing outdoor game brands in the country. We're developing our next flagship product: a large-format physical party game for families. The gameplay is designed, prototyped, and playtested. Now it needs a visual world built around it, and we want it to look like nothing else on the market. That last part matters. We are NOT looking for someone to make it look like every other game on the shelf. We want a designer with exceptional taste, wherever that taste was built: branding, streetwear, sneakers, entertainment, editorial, consumer electronics, spirits packaging, album art, motion. If you can make a physical object feel iconic, we want to see your work. What you'd be designing (full details under NDA after an intro call): The centerpiece: a large physical play surface that needs to be instantly iconic, wildly eye-catching, and read perfectly on camera. This product is built to live on social media. A card deck: a bold, clean design system across ~27 cards that a 7-year-old can read and understand. Component colorways: one graphic language across a family of playful physical pieces so everything in the box feels like one product Packaging: designed for the shelf AND the unboxing video The visual identity: the name is set; you'll build the world around it: wordmark, palette, typography, graphic language You're probably a fit if: Your portfolio makes people stop scrolling: bold, confident, original work across physical or brand design You think in systems, not one-offs: one visual language flexed across an object, a deck, components, and a box You can design for the physical world. Your work has been printed, produced, or manufactured (any industry), or you're confident making that jump with support. Our manufacturing team handles the factory side; you own the vision and artwork. You can go bold, colorful and playful without drifting into generic kids-brand territory (Plus, not required) 3D visualization skills (Blender/KeyShot) to bring concepts to life before tooling exists One thing we care deeply about: original, human-made work. This brand and product will be protected as intellectual property we own outright: trademarks, trade dress, registered designs. That means the core creative (identity, artwork, product graphics, packaging) must be your original craft, not AI-generated imagery. Use whatever tools you like for research and exploration, but the work we ship has to be yours, ownable, and defensible. How we work: small senior team, founders in the loop, async-first (Slack + Loom), fast feedback, fast decisions, zero bureaucracy. The engagement: this is a defined, one-product project, taking this game from concept to production-ready design. That said, we're expanding our product catalogue aggressively over the next few years, and if this goes well there's every chance it becomes a long-term collaboration with our go-to design partner. To apply, include: The 2 or 3 portfolio pieces you're proudest of, with one line each on what you personally designed A few sentences on how you'd approach making a family party game look unlike anything else on the market Your rate and availability. We're open to hourly or a fixed project price, so tell us how you prefer to structure it (or propose both). We reply fast to strong applications. Generic proposals and unedited portfolio dumps will be skipped. We look forward to meeting our new game designer!
