Executive Brand Video Editor & Story Producer
Worldwide
We need a creative video editor and story producer to turn existing professional footage into polished brand videos for our executive team. You will shape compelling narratives, refine pacing, and deliver high-quality final edits that reflect our brand voice. This is a part-time, ongoing role for someone who can work independently, communicate clearly, and produce polished content consistently. Please share relevant samples of brand or executive video work. Experience Level - Expert We are looking for sophisticated executive/corporate storytelling—not basic social-media editing. Location - Worldwide Strong English-language storytelling and communication are required. Some U.S. Eastern Time overlap is preferred. Contract Type - Fixed Price, Milestone-based. Budget - Seeking competitive fixed-price proposals. Please quote based on the scope below. We already have professionally captured footage, so this engagement is primarily **story development, editing and post-production**, not filming. # Project Overview We are seeking an experienced **video editor and story producer** to transform existing professionally captured footage into a polished executive/brand introduction film and a library of derivative digital assets. The subject is an established U.S. executive, educator, author, advisor and thought leader building an expanded professional platform. Professional footage and photography have already been captured. Brand strategy and business positioning are also being developed separately. We need someone who can look at the available footage, identify the strongest story, and create an executive-quality film that communicates: **Who is he?** **What does he stand for?** **What is the body of work?** **Why does it matter now?** **What should the viewer want to do next?** This is not intended to feel like a generic corporate promotional video. We want an intelligent, credible and emotionally engaging executive story. # Initial Scope The selected producer/editor will receive available: * Professionally filmed interview/video footage * B-roll * Professional photography * Existing biographical information * Business and brand positioning * Messaging and strategic direction * Brand identity assets as they are finalized * Existing presentation/materials as appropriate The producer should review the source material and recommend the strongest narrative structure before completing the final edit. # Primary Deliverable — Flagship Executive Brand Film Approximately **2–3 minutes**. The flagship film should be suitable for: * Website * LinkedIn * YouTube * Executive presentations * Sponsorship conversations * Institutional introductions * Speaking opportunities * Prospect/partner meetings The final film should feel appropriate for a senior executive and thought-leadership audience. # Derivative Video Package The flagship film should also become a reusable library of shorter assets. We anticipate: ### 1. Website / Executive Introduction Approximately **60–90 seconds** A tighter version of the flagship story suitable for prominent website placement and digital introductions. ### 2. Social / LinkedIn Cut Approximately **30–60 seconds** Designed for professional social distribution. ### 3. Short-Form Clips Approximately **4–6 clips** Potentially 15–45 seconds each. These should highlight strong statements, insights, stories or themes from the source footage rather than simply cutting arbitrary pieces from the master video. ### 4. Supporting Assets As appropriate: * Professional captions/subtitles * Branded title cards * Lower thirds * Intro/outro * Logo treatment * Light motion graphics * Licensed music * Audio cleanup/mixing * Color correction/grading * YouTube thumbnail or video cover image * Appropriate export formats for website, LinkedIn and YouTube # Story Development We are specifically looking for someone who can **find the story inside the footage.** The selected partner should be comfortable: * Reviewing raw interview footage * Identifying the strongest statements * Developing a narrative arc * Recommending what should and should not be used * Integrating B-roll and photography intelligently * Maintaining an authentic executive voice * Creating pacing appropriate for an executive/institutional audience * Using graphics to enhance rather than overwhelm the story We do not want unnecessary effects or a template-driven corporate video. **Story first. Editing second.** # Creative Direction The desired tone is: * Sophisticated * Credible * Warm * Intelligent * Contemporary * Purpose-driven * Executive-level * Human The finished work should communicate authority without feeling overly commercial. Think **executive documentary / thought-leadership profile**, rather than advertisement. # Important Production Context **No new filming is currently anticipated.** This project is based primarily on existing professional footage. If, after reviewing the material, you believe a specific missing shot, voiceover or other element would materially improve the film, identify that separately as a recommendation rather than assuming additional production. # Deliverables & Ownership Final delivery should include: * Final flagship film * Website version * Social/LinkedIn version * Short-form clips * Captioned versions where appropriate * Clean versions where appropriate * Thumbnail/cover asset * Final export files * Editable project/source file * Organized supporting assets used in production All final work product and project files must be transferable to the client in accordance with the Upwork contract. Any stock footage, music, fonts or other licensed assets must be disclosed and appropriately licensed for the intended use. # Revision Process Please indicate: * Number of revision rounds included * How you collect edit feedback * Expected turnaround between revision rounds * What constitutes an additional-cost revision We prefer a structured review process rather than continuous informal edits. # What to Include in Your Proposal Please do not send a generic video-editing proposal. Include: 1. **Two or three examples** of your strongest executive profile, founder story, thought-leadership, documentary-style or premium corporate storytelling work. 2. Tell us **what you personally did** on each example: story producing, editing, motion graphics, audio, color, etc. 3. Describe how you approach a project where **the footage already exists but the final story has not yet been assembled.** 4. Tell us what you would want from us before beginning. 5. Describe your process from: **raw footage → story → rough cut → review → final master → derivative assets** 6. Provide your proposed **fixed price** for the complete package. 7. Identify anything you believe should be priced separately. 8. Provide your estimated turnaround time. # Potential Milestone Structure We anticipate structuring the project approximately as follows: **Milestone 1 — Footage Review + Story Architecture** Review supplied footage and materials and provide recommended narrative/story structure. **Milestone 2 — Flagship Rough Cut** Produce initial 2–3 minute master-film edit for review. **Milestone 3 — Final Flagship Film** Complete approved revisions, graphics, audio, color and final master. **Milestone 4 — Derivative Asset Library** Produce approved website, LinkedIn/social and short-form versions and deliver organized project/source files. Final milestone structure will be agreed with the selected partner. # Screening Questions ### 1. Storytelling You receive 60–90 minutes of professionally filmed executive interview footage plus B-roll and photography, but no final script. Walk us through how you determine the strongest 2–3 minute story. ### 2. Relevant Work Share the **single portfolio example** that best demonstrates your ability to tell a sophisticated executive, founder or thought-leadership story. What was your role in creating it? ### 3. Derivative Content How would you turn one 2–3 minute flagship executive film into a useful library of LinkedIn, website and short-form content without making every asset feel like a smaller copy of the same video? ### 4. Production Process What information and assets would you need from us before beginning, and at what point would you tell us if the existing footage is insufficient? ### 5. Pricing Provide your preliminary fixed-price estimate for the complete scope and identify what is included, what is excluded, and how many revision rounds are included.
