Experienced Product Team for Growing Arabic Quiz Game – Development, UI/UX & Content**
Worldwide
# Experienced Long-Term Team for Live Arabic Quiz Game – Development, UI/UX & Content We are looking for **serious, experienced professionals to join the long-term team behind a live Arabic competitive quiz game**. The product is already **developed, launched, and being used by real players**. This is not a project starting from zero. We already have: * A working live game * Existing users * Existing categories * A large question database * Existing gameplay systems * An administration system * Ongoing development We are now looking for experienced people who can understand the existing product, take responsibility for their area, improve it, maintain it, and help us continue growing it. We are mainly looking for: * **Arabic Question / Content Manager** * **Experienced Full-Stack Developer** * **Experienced UI/UX / Product Designer** Experience with games, interactive products, consumer applications, or other live digital products is highly preferred. This is intended to become a **long-term working relationship** for the right people. --- # About the Game The product is an **Arabic competitive quiz game** made mainly for groups of friends, families, gatherings, and competitions. Players compete in teams and answer questions from many different categories. Examples of categories include: * General Knowledge * Football * Kuwaiti and Gulf Entertainment * TV Series * Movies * History * Geography * Sports * Brands * Culture * And many more Arabic is the main language of the game. A large part of the target audience is from **Kuwait and the GCC**. The game currently has **two main question systems**. --- # First Question System – Top 10 This system is based on questions that contain **10 ranked correct answers**. Instead of having only one correct answer, players try to identify answers from a ranked list of ten. For example, the question could ask players to identify the ten highest, largest, most successful, most viewed, most awarded, or other ranked items based on a clear statistic or criterion. The answers have increasing point values. * First-ranked answer = 100 points * Second-ranked answer = 200 points * Third-ranked answer = 300 points * Fourth-ranked answer = 400 points * Fifth-ranked answer = 500 points * Sixth-ranked answer = 600 points * Seventh-ranked answer = 700 points * Eighth-ranked answer = 800 points * Ninth-ranked answer = 900 points * Tenth-ranked answer = 1000 points The less obvious answers are generally worth more points. Every Top 10 question also contains **three believable traps**. A trap should be something that a player could realistically think belongs in the Top 10, even though it does not. For this system, research and accuracy are extremely important. Every ranking must have: * A clear ranking criterion * Correct ordering * Reliable information * Verified sources * Appropriate traps * Clear wording We do not want guessed rankings or rankings created only from AI-generated information. --- # Second Question System – Difficulty-Based Questions The second system uses normal quiz questions divided into three levels. ### Easy – 200 Points These questions should be accessible to players who have general knowledge of the category. ### Medium – 400 Points These questions should require stronger knowledge and should clearly be more challenging than the easy questions. ### Hard – 600 Points These questions should challenge players who know the category very well. Hard questions should still be **fair and answerable**. We do not want random or impossible trivia simply because the question is supposed to be difficult. Each question includes: * The question * The correct answer * Difficulty level * A useful hint * Two believable traps * A reliable source or reference Difficulty must be consistent. The Question Manager must understand the difference between a genuinely easy, medium, and hard question. --- # Position 1 – Arabic Question / Content Manager This is one of the **most important roles in the project**. ## Arabic is mandatory for this position. The Question Manager must be a fluent Arabic speaker and must be able to write clear, natural Arabic. Candidates from **Kuwait or other GCC countries are strongly preferred**. Candidates with strong knowledge of Gulf culture, entertainment, football, sports, television, history, general knowledge, and Arabic content are also preferred. This person will be directly responsible for **building and managing the question database**. This is not simply a reviewing position. The Question Manager will actually create questions and will be responsible for maintaining the overall quality of the content. Responsibilities include: * Creating new questions * Creating new categories * Building Top 10 questions * Building easy questions * Building medium questions * Building hard questions * Researching correct answers * Verifying information * Finding reliable sources * Creating useful hints * Creating believable traps * Reviewing existing questions * Fixing incorrect information * Updating outdated information * Preventing duplicate questions * Maintaining consistent difficulty * Improving Arabic wording * Planning future categories * Expanding the question database * Reviewing content before publication * Monitoring content quality after publication --- # The Question Manager Is Responsible for Question Accuracy The Question Manager will be the main person responsible for the **accuracy, quality, and maintenance of the questions in the game**. If a question contains a mistake, it becomes the Question Manager's responsibility to investigate and correct it. Examples include: * Wrong answers * Incorrect rankings * Outdated information * Incorrect statistics * Incorrect hints * Weak or incorrect traps * Bad wording * Spelling problems * Duplicate questions * Incorrect difficulty levels * Weak sources * Missing information Players are also able to submit reports when they believe a question has a problem. The Question Manager will be responsible for **regularly reviewing these reports**. This includes: * Checking reported questions * Investigating the issue * Researching the information again * Verifying the correct answer * Checking reliable sources * Correcting mistakes * Updating outdated questions * Improving unclear wording * Fixing hints or traps * Making sure resolved issues are properly corrected We want someone who takes **ownership of the question database**. The goal is not to create questions once and forget about them. The Question Manager should continuously maintain and improve the content as the game grows. --- # Specialized Categories We understand that one person cannot be an expert in every subject. A Question Manager may know a lot about areas such as: * Football * Kuwait * Arabic entertainment * General knowledge But may not have enough knowledge about a highly specialized subject such as: * A specific television series * Anime * Formula 1 * A particular video game * A specialized sport * A specific historical period * Other niche subjects That is completely acceptable. When a category requires knowledge that the Question Manager does not personally have, **additional specialist contributors may be added to help with that specific category**. The client will handle the approved additional budget for these contributors. The Question Manager is not expected to personally cover this cost. However, the Question Manager will still be responsible for managing the quality of the final content. This includes: * Explaining our question format * Reviewing the specialist's work * Checking answers * Checking sources * Checking Arabic wording * Checking hints * Checking traps * Checking difficulty * Checking for duplicates * Approving the final content For example, if we decide to build a large category about a specific television series and the Question Manager does not know that series well enough, a knowledgeable specialist can contribute to that category. The Question Manager will then review and manage that work before it is added to the game. We want someone who can **manage the entire content operation**, not someone who has to personally know every topic. --- # Serious Research Is Required This is extremely important. We are **not looking for someone who generates large amounts of content using AI and submits it without proper research and verification**. AI tools may be used as part of the workflow. However, AI should be treated as an **assistant**, not as the final source of information. Every question must be: * Researched * Verified * Checked * Properly written * Supported by reliable information If an AI tool provides an answer, that answer must still be independently verified. For ranked questions, the actual ranking must be checked. For sports questions, statistics must be checked. For entertainment questions, names, dates, actors, episodes, productions, and other facts must be verified. For current information, the Question Manager must make sure the information is up to date. If reliable sources disagree, the Question Manager should investigate the issue instead of guessing. Accuracy is extremely important because incorrect questions can damage player trust. We want someone who takes **research and quality control seriously**. --- # Position 2 – Experienced Full-Stack Developer We need an experienced developer who can work with an **existing live product and existing codebase**. The current technology includes areas such as: * React * NextJS * Firebase * Firestore * APIs * Modern web application development Responsibilities may include: * Understanding the existing codebase * Maintaining the live game * Fixing bugs * Debugging production issues * Developing new features * Improving existing features * Improving performance * Improving scalability * Improving stability * Improving database structure when necessary * Improving mobile experience * Improving desktop experience * Developing administration tools * Working with the Question Manager * Working with the UI/UX Designer * Safely releasing updates to a product with active users We especially want someone who has experience working on **real production applications with real users**. Experience with the following is highly valuable: * Real-time applications * Multiplayer systems * Games * Firebase * Firestore * React * NextJS * Consumer applications * Performance optimization * Scalable web applications We are looking for someone who understands how to maintain and improve a live product, not only someone who can create simple demo projects. --- # Development and AI Tools Using AI-assisted development tools is acceptable. However, we do **not** want a developer who depends entirely on AI-generated code without understanding what is being built. The developer must understand: * The codebase * Application architecture * Debugging * Production issues * Databases * Performance * Testing * Safe deployments * Maintainable code The developer must be able to diagnose problems independently and take responsibility for changes made to the live product. --- # Position 3 – Experienced UI/UX / Product Designer We are looking for someone who understands **product design and user experience**, not only visual design. The goal is not simply to make screens look better. The designer should understand how people interact with the game and identify opportunities to improve the overall player experience. Responsibilities may include: * Reviewing the current user experience * Improving onboarding * Improving navigation * Improving category selection * Improving gameplay screens * Improving mobile usability * Improving desktop usability * Improving visual hierarchy * Creating designs and prototypes * Identifying confusing parts of the experience * Reducing unnecessary steps * Improving engagement * Improving retention * Making the game easier to understand * Working closely with the developer * Suggesting product improvements Experience with **games, entertainment products, consumer applications, or interactive products** is highly preferred. We want someone who can explain **why a UX change should improve the product**, not someone who only changes colors and layouts. --- # We Want Experienced People We are **not looking for beginners**. We want professionals with relevant experience who can demonstrate previous work. We value people who: * Take ownership * Communicate clearly * Are reliable * Pay attention to details * Can work independently * Work well with a team * Understand live products * Identify problems * Suggest solutions * Care about quality * Think about the overall product * Want a long-term opportunity We do not want people who require extremely detailed instructions for every small decision. If you notice something that could be improved, we want you to mention it. If you believe something is being done incorrectly, explain why. If you have a better solution, suggest it. We are looking for people who **think, take responsibility, and contribute ideas**, not people who only complete assigned tasks. --- # Language Preference For the **Question / Content Manager**: **Fluent Arabic is mandatory.** Kuwait and GCC candidates are strongly preferred. For developers and UI/UX designers: Arabic is preferred but is not mandatory if you are highly experienced and can communicate effectively with the team. --- # Initial Budget The initial fixed-price contract is **$200**. This amount is for the **initial paid trial stage**. It is not intended to represent the permanent long-term budget. The first stage allows us to evaluate: * Quality * Experience * Communication * Reliability * Speed * Understanding of the product * Ability to work independently * Ability to collaborate * Attention to detail * Ability to take responsibility If the trial is successful, the scope, responsibilities, workload, and budget can increase. We are interested in building a **long-term team**. For the right people, this can develop into a much larger ongoing role as the product continues growing. --- # Application Requirements Please avoid generic proposals. We want to understand your actual experience and the role you can realistically handle. Please answer the following in your proposal: 1. Where are you currently based? 2. What languages do you speak? 3. Are you applying individually or as part of a team? 4. Which position are you applying for? 5. How many years of relevant experience do you have? 6. What similar products or projects have you worked on? 7. Have you worked on a live application, game, website, or consumer product before? 8. Please include relevant work samples in your Upwork profile or proposal. 9. Explain what you personally worked on in those projects. 10. Are you comfortable joining and improving an existing product? 11. Are you interested in a long-term opportunity if the initial trial goes well? ## Developer Applicants Please include information about your experience with: * React * NextJS * Firebase * Firestore * Production applications * Debugging * Existing codebases * Real-time applications * Multiplayer systems * Games or interactive products ## UI/UX Applicants Please include: * Relevant portfolio work * Examples of real products you designed * Experience with games or consumer applications * Examples of improving an existing product * How you normally identify and solve UX problems ## Question / Content Manager Applicants Please include: * Your Arabic level * Your current region * Your knowledge of Kuwait and GCC culture * Your research experience * Your quiz or trivia experience * Your content-management experience * Categories you personally know very well * How you verify information * How you would handle a player report claiming that a question is incorrect * Whether you are comfortable taking responsibility for question accuracy * Whether you are comfortable regularly reviewing question reports and correcting issues * Whether you are comfortable coordinating additional specialists when a category requires knowledge you do not personally have The **Question / Content Manager must be Arabic-speaking and will be directly responsible for creating, reviewing, maintaining, and improving the question database**. This person will also be responsible for **investigating question mistakes, reviewing player reports, correcting problems, and keeping the content accurate over time**. When specialized knowledge is required, additional approved contributors may assist with specific categories, while the Question Manager remains responsible for reviewing and approving the final content. We are looking for **serious, experienced people who want to understand the product, take ownership, contribute ideas, improve it, and grow with the project long-term**.
