Experienced Structural Design Engineer (STAAD)

We need an experienced structural design engineer to design a concrete building. The building is approximately 36m x 28m and has a basement/underground parking area and 10 storeys (i.e. 11 storeys total). The foundation plan centerline drawing will be provided to you in AutoCAD to get you started. The floor plan is the same for all the 10 storeys except for the underground garage, so this plan applies to all the floors. However, the floor heights are different. The selected engineer must be capable of independently performing all the engineering design/analysis necessary to design the beams and columns and advise on additions or removal and the proper locations of new columns. You will not be expected to produce any details or drawings for this project however you will be expected to provide the cross sections drawings of the beams/columns showing their sizes and rebar used in them. Your work is primarily to model the structure in STAAD, input all the necessary loads, perform the required analyses, add or remove columns where necessary and size/design the beams and columns necessary to get it to work. You will need to be able to do these with little guidance Your work will be checked and approved by a licensed structural engineer, and you must be prepared to answer any questions by the senior structural engineer. Yor don’t need to worry about drafting on this project. You do not need a PE license. This project requires the use of STAAD Pro. You must have access to STAAD to be considered. The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of experience in structural engineering, strong knowledge of local, state, and federal engineering regulations and standards. Provide Below: 1) Your profile or resume, highlighting your experience working on similar projects. 2) 2 complete sample sets of your past STAAD pro analysis/design results for concrete buildings 3) The engineering drawings and details that accompany the two calculation sets above Scope of Work: 1) Import a 2D CAD plan drawing of the 1 st floor of the building into STAAD Pro [I’ll provide the 2D plan drawing to you] 2) Convert the 2D floor plan to 3D of the whole building [All the 10 floors are the same floor plan] 3) Review applicable building codes and establish the applicable design criteria for the building. [Ask if you don’t know this and we will assist you with it] 4) Determine loadings and dimensional requirements for the new building. [Ask if you don’t know this and we will assist you with it] 5) Perform all the engineering analysis and design required for the new concrete building. [You don’t need to worry about the foundations] 6) Review and revise the design based on input and comments from the senior structural engineer. Deliverables: 1) List of all assumptions and any other information used on the project. 2) Complete calculation printout (Staad Pro) for review by senior structural engineer. 3) All the original native files (Staad Pro, Excel, and any other) used on the project. Qualifications 1) You must have a minimum of 4 years of experience performing analysis/design of concrete buildings using STAAD Pro. 2) You must be capable of independently performing all the engineering design/analysis necessary to design the building. 3) You must be proficient in STAAD Pro software and have access to the program. 4) You must be proficient in AutoCAD software and have access to a recent version of the program.
