Experienced YouTube Scriptwriter Needed (Non-Reaction, Context-Driven Commentary)
Worldwide
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented scriptwriter for our YouTube channel. Our videos cover a wide range of real-world footage, including (but not limited to): * Fail compilations * “Moments Before Disaster” * Accidents and near-misses * Boats, trains, industrial machinery, and transportation incidents * Unexpected events caught on camera * Interesting Animal Moments This is not a reaction-style or personality-driven commentary role. The goal is to add value without getting in the way of the footage. Pay: * $75 USD per completed script What the work involves: * Each video typically includes 75–80 short clips * You will write commentary for every clip * Every clip must be reviewed individually to determine what commentary is appropriate Our scripting philosophy (very important): * Every clip requires commentary * If useful, factual, or clarifying context exists → add brief, relevant narration For example: * Identifying vehicles, vessels, locations, or equipment * Adding context if needed to understand what is going on * Explaining known causes or malfunctions (when information is available) * Adding short background facts that help viewers better understand what they’re seeing We do not want: * Reaction commentary * Filler narration * Over-explaining obvious footage * Humor, slang, or “young audience” language Our audience is primarily 40–60 years old, so writing must be: * Clear and neutral * Mature and informative * Calm, concise, and respectful of the footage Reference (important): This video/channel represents exactly the scripting style we are looking for: 👉 https://youtu.be/gig_Q-1VYUs?si=E68BTLm4VK7NkhkY If your writing style cannot align closely with this approach, this role will not be a good fit. Requirements: * Excellent English (near-native level) * Strong judgment on how much to write for each clip * Ability to research and verify basic facts when appropriate * Fast turnaround and clear communication Workload: * Initial goal: 2 scripts per week * Opportunity to scale up output in the near future * This is a long-term role for the right writer To apply, please include: 1. Examples of previous work similar in tone and restraint 2. Whether you are seeking short-term or long-term work 3. Why you believe you would genuinely enjoy this style of writing and working as part of a long-term team We are looking for someone who values clarity over noise, understands pacing, and wants to help build videos that viewers actually enjoy watching. If you’ve read everything above, please start your application with “HEY THERE!" so I know you’ve reviewed the full post.
