Fantasy Environment Artist | 3D-Look Storybook Scenes

We are looking for a creative Fantasy Environment Artist / Illustrator to design and produce an original, polished fantasy environment for a creative project. This role involves both creative design development and final artwork production. We will provide rough sketches, existing visual references, and creative direction. We are looking for an artist who can take those starting points, contribute their own imagination and ideas, and develop them into a finished, high-quality illustration suitable for the final project. This is the first project, with potential for ongoing paid collaboration if we are a strong fit working together. Visual Direction We are looking for artwork that feels: Magical, imaginative, and visually distinctive Cinematic, with strong depth, perspective, and scale Rich in lighting, atmosphere, and dimensionality Skilled in transparency and translucent visual effects Polished and dimensional rather than flat Strong in environment, structure, form, and material design Original rather than simply reproducing the provided references We are open to 2D illustration, 3D artwork, or a hybrid 2D/3D approach. We are especially interested in artists who can create polished fantasy illustrations with a strong 3D/dimensional look, including convincing depth, lighting, materials, transparency/translucent effects, and atmosphere. Photoshop, Blender, or other professional illustration/3D software may be used. The priority is the quality and originality of the final artwork. References & Creative Development We will provide rough sketches to communicate our ideas, along with story context, creative direction, and existing visual references. Some references represent visual elements and style directions we would like to maintain for consistency, while others are provided simply as inspiration. At the same time, your own imagination and creative ideas are very welcome. We are looking for someone who can build on the existing direction, bring fresh ideas, and develop the artwork into something more original, polished, and visually distinctive. First Project — $80 Fixed Price The first project is to create: 1 complete, polished fantasy environment scene, developed through feedback to final artwork. The $80 includes: Up to 3 rounds of feedback and refinement Final high-resolution JPG/PNG Original fully editable working/source files Worldwide copyright and commercial/IP ownership transfer upon full payment Important: The 3 rounds are for developing and refining the same design direction, not creating three completely different designs. Editable Source Files Final working files must remain editable and not flattened. If Photoshop or another illustration program is used, please provide the original editable working file with important effects and adjustments remaining editable wherever possible. If Blender or another 3D program is used to create significant parts of the artwork, please also provide the original editable 3D working/source files. Ownership Upon full payment, all worldwide copyright, ownership, and commercial/IP rights for the commissioned artwork will be assigned and transferred to the client.
