I’m looking for a detail-oriented researcher to compile a clean list of ethane flares and shut-in (inactive) gas wells located within roughly a 6-hour drive of Knoxville, Tennessee. Goal Identify every relevant site and deliver: • Exact location (address, GPS coordinates, county, and state) • Operator / owner company name • Current contact information for the company (phone, email, website, and physical address if available) Scope 1 Ethane flares (priority) Focus on permitted ethane or NGL-related flares, especially at gas processing or fractionation plants. 2 Shut-in gas wells Locate permitted gas wells that are currently shut-in / inactive. Geographic Area Anything within approximately a 6-hour drive of Knoxville, TN. This includes Tennessee and nearby parts of Kentucky, Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and possibly southern Ohio / northern Alabama. Starting Resources (use these + expand) Tennessee wells: https://tdeconline.tn.gov/DMGR/ Tennessee air permits / flares: TDEC APC Data Viewer / eFiles (search “TDEC Dataviewers” or “APC permit” on tn.gov). Look for the Air Pollution Control viewer. Search keywords: flare, ethane, NGL, fractionation, gas processing. You will need to research equivalent public databases, permit viewers, and oil & gas well inventories for the surrounding states. Deliverable A clean, organized spreadsheet (Google Sheets or Excel) with one row per site containing at minimum: • Type (Flare / Shut-in Well) • Site Name / Well Name • Location (Address + GPS) • County • State • Operator / Owner • Contact Phone • Contact Email • Website • Notes / Source Please include the source/link for each entry so I can verify. Ideal Candidate • Experience researching public oil & gas permits, well databases, or environmental/air permits • Comfortable navigating state agency websites and public data portals • Strong attention to detail and ability to extract accurate owner/operator contact info • Able to work independently and deliver organized results How to Apply In your proposal, please include: 1 Brief relevant experience (especially any oil/gas, energy, or public records research) 2 Your estimated timeline and fixed price (or hourly rate + estimated hours) 3 One example of similar research you’ve done (or a short sample of how you would approach this) This is a straightforward research project.
