We're a small business development team launching a mushroom-based jerky product and need a freelance food development chef or food scientist to help with recipe development and production scale-up. What we need: Recipe development for a savory, jerky-style mushroom snack, target flavor profile is a Caribbean-inspired "Jerk Tamarind" Guidance on dehydration process and moisture/shelf-life targets, aiming for approximately 9-month shelf stability Support scaling a home/small-batch recipe to a pilot production run of approximately 500 units Ingredient and formulation guidance, including allergen and Nutrition Facts considerations Available for ongoing consultation as we finalize a co-packing/manufacturing partner Ideal candidate: Experience with dehydrated snacks, jerky, or plant-based product development Comfortable working with a small business/startup team, quick turnaround needed Can provide guidance remotely, in-person not required Timeline: Looking to move quickly, targeting production readiness ahead of a September event.
