Founding YouTube Documentary Video Editor — AI, Business & Future of Work
Worldwide
Hi all, thanks so much for your interest in this role. Status update: I'm going to edit the first several videos myself before hiring. The goal is to establish a locked style reference for the channel so that whoever I bring on has a concrete look to match rather than a moving target. I think that makes the eventual role smoother and gets you set up to succeed faster. So I'm pausing hiring for now, but not closing the door — I'm keeping a shortlist and will run a short paid test edit with a few of you once my reference style is ready (likely a few weeks out). If you'd like to stay in the running, just reply with your flat per-video rate for a weekly slot, your turnaround time, and a portfolio link or two. I'll be in touch when it's time. Appreciate your patience. ***************************************** Who Owns Tomorrow is a new investigative documentary channel about the companies, technologies, and forces shaping the future economy — who wins, who loses, and what it means for careers and wealth. Restrained, high-contrast, chart-driven. NOT vlog-style, NOT hype pacing, NOT template-slideshow. If your instinct is Netflix-doc-meets-The-Economist, we'll get along. Budget: $300–800 per video as a fixed per-video rate, depending on experience and motion-graphics depth. This is a weekly, long-term collaboration — we'll prioritize editors who want a channel to grow with. Software: Premiere Pro + After Effects (or equivalent you can demonstrate at the same level). To apply, include: 2–3 links to long-form videos you personally edited (documentary/business/explainer style strongly preferred — tell us exactly what you did on each) Your per-video rate for the scope above One sentence on a channel whose editing style you admire and why Shortlisted editors will be offered a paid test: a 2-minute segment from our first script, at your quoted rate, same brief for all finalists.
