Fractional Controller / Accounting Manager – E-Commerce, Finaloop Migration & Audit Readiness

We are a rapidly growing e-commerce company seeking a hands-on Fractional Controller or experienced Accounting Manager to strengthen our finance and accounting function. The immediate priorities are completing our migration to Finaloop, ensuring the books are accurate and fully reconciled, improving month-end processes, and preparing the company for an external audit in Q1. This engagement will begin at approximately 10–20 hours per week and could develop into a full-time role as the company continues to scale. Key Responsibilities Lead the completion and validation of our accounting migration to Finaloop Reconcile historical balances and confirm the accuracy of opening balances, journal entries and financial statements Build and maintain a reliable monthly close process Prepare audit-ready schedules, reconciliations and supporting documentation Serve as the primary accounting contact during the Q1 external audit Review revenue, inventory, COGS, accounts receivable, accounts payable and cash reconciliations Strengthen accounting policies, internal controls and documentation Resolve outstanding or unsupported balance-sheet items Coordinate with internal finance personnel, external accountants, auditors and operational teams Identify opportunities to automate recurring accounting work and reduce manual processes Provide accurate and timely financial reporting to the CFO and management team Qualifications Significant experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager or similar senior accounting professional Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and accrual-basis accounting Prior experience preparing a company for an external financial statement audit Experience with high-volume e-commerce, retail or consumer-product businesses strongly preferred Strong understanding of inventory accounting, landed costs, COGS and revenue recognition Experience with Finaloop is highly preferred Familiarity with platforms such as Shopify, Amazon, TikTok Shop, QuickBooks Online and warehouse management systems is helpful CPA or public accounting background preferred Advanced reconciliation and financial-statement review skills Ability to work independently, identify issues and drive projects through completion What We Are Looking For This is a hands-on role. We need someone who can get into the details, reconcile accounts, clean up historical issues and create durable processes—not someone who will only provide high-level advice. The right person will be comfortable operating in a fast-moving environment where transaction volume and organizational complexity are increasing quickly. You should be able to balance immediate execution with building an accounting function that can support continued growth.
