US startup standing up an Indian subsidiary and converting long-time contractors to employees. We need someone to build HR from zero: compliant employment agreements (confidentiality, IP assignment, non-solicit, BYOD), payroll/statutory compliance coordination, onboarding experience, leave and holiday policy for a team working US hours, and a simple performance review rhythm. First 30 days: employment agreement templates reviewed with counsel · onboarding pack live · HR policy one-pagers (leave, conduct, acceptable use) · payroll/compliance calendar Must-have: set up or run HR for an Indian entity of a foreign parent; knows Indian statutory basics (PF, ESI, gratuity, Shops & Establishments); has drafted policy from scratch. Nice-to-have: contractor→employee conversions; startup ESOP exposure.
