Fractional Technical Lead – AWS Serverless Backend

Hope Technology Group is seeking a part-time Technical Lead/AWS Backend Engineer to help build the MVP of a new AI-assisted digital platform. The selected lead will work directly with the Founder and provide technical direction, architecture guidance, code reviews, task planning, and mentorship to a small team that may include junior developers. The lead may also help evaluate and select those developers. Responsibilities: * Review and refine the MVP technical architecture * Build and supervise an AWS serverless backend * Create modular CloudFormation templates * Establish secure APIs, authentication, database integration, and CI/CD * Review code and mentor junior developers * Implement security, monitoring, backup, and AWS cost controls * Maintain clear technical and deployment documentation Preferred experience: * AWS Lambda, API Gateway, S3, Cognito, SQS, and CloudWatch * CloudFormation using YAML * PostgreSQL or Amazon RDS * Secure API and role-based access design * CI/CD and serverless architecture * AI-service integration, preferably Amazon Bedrock or similar * Mentoring and reviewing junior developers This is a remote, fractional role requiring approximately 5–10 hours per week initially. The selected contractor will work within Hope Technology Group’s development environment and sign a standard confidentiality and intellectual-property agreement before beginning work. We have an early-stage budget and will begin with a limited paid engagement. Successful collaboration may lead to continued work throughout MVP development and future platform growth.
