Summary

Remote | Freelance | Immediate Start | Ongoing Opportunity We’re a busy, rapidly growing digital and social media marketing agency that has been in business for nearly eight years, working with an established roster of clients spanning a wide variety of industries. As our client base and workload continue to grow, we’re looking to add a talented, experienced freelance Graphic Designer / Video Editor to our creative roster to work with us on multiple ongoing projects each month. This initial project will serve as a paid trial project so we can evaluate your design approach, ability to interpret and execute a creative brief, attention to detail, communication, efficiency, and overall working style. If this project goes well, our goal is to make you one of our go-to designers for approximately 3–6 projects per month—and likely more. We already have additional projects waiting for the right person. About the Initial Project Our client operates a large entertainment complex near Pittsburgh featuring: * A massive arcade with premier retro and modern games * A large bowling alley * Full bar and kitchen * Multiple private event spaces We create separate campaigns for two distinct audiences: Family Audience: Targeting parents and encouraging them to bring their families to the venue. 21+ Audience: Targeting adults and driving nighttime traffic by highlighting the arcade, bowling, bar, food, and overall nightlife experience. You’ll be responsible for refreshing the client’s digital campaign creative across Meta, Instagram Reels, and programmatic display advertising, while maintaining consistency across the overall campaign. Project Deliverables 1. Instagram Reels — 2 Total Create two 15-second promotional Reels in CapCut: * One targeting parents/families * One targeting the 21+ audience The overall concepts can be somewhat similar, but imagery, video clips, messaging, pacing, and other elements should be adjusted appropriately for each audience. All source video will already be trimmed and organized for you. 2. Meta Feed Ads — 10–14 Total Create approximately 5–7 Meta feed ads for each audience, for a total of approximately 10–14 ads. * 4:5 portrait format * Created in Canva * Approximately half will be static * Approximately half will incorporate tasteful, basic animation * Designs should be optimized specifically for paid social advertising, not simply repurposed organic social graphics The two audience segments should feel like part of the same overall brand while having clearly differentiated creative approaches and messaging. 3. Digital Display Banner Ads — 4 Complete Series Create two different banner concepts for each audience, for a total of four complete banner series. Each concept must be adapted to the following eight dimensions: * 728 × 90 px * 320 × 50 px * 300 × 250 px * 480 × 320 px * 970 × 250 px * 320 × 480 px * 300 × 600 px * 160 × 600 px That’s 32 banner executions in total across the four concepts. These designs should: * Visually align with the corresponding social campaign * Be created in Canva * Incorporate basic animation where appropriate * Be thoughtfully redesigned for each aspect ratio—not simply resized and squeezed into a different canvas What We’ll Provide We’re not expecting you to source or prepare all of the raw assets yourself. We’ll provide a shared folder containing: * Professionally edited photography * Pre-trimmed video clips * Logos and brand assets * Brand fonts * Previous campaign designs for reference * Creative direction * A detailed creative brief Your job is to take those materials and turn them into polished, engaging paid advertising creative that gets attention and communicates quickly. Who We’re Looking For We’re looking for an actual designer with strong creative instincts and paid advertising experience—not simply someone who occasionally creates social graphics or relies on AI prompts to generate finished designs. You should have: * Extensive experience creating graphics and promotional videos specifically for PAID digital advertising campaigns * Strong graphic design fundamentals, including hierarchy, typography, spacing, composition, contrast, and visual storytelling * Significant Canva experience and an active Canva Pro subscription * Significant CapCut experience and an active CapCut Pro subscription * Experience creating short-form promotional video ads * A strong understanding of the nuances between designing for paid advertising versus organic social content * Knowledge of Meta advertising formats, specifications, safe zones, and creative best practices * Experience designing digital/programmatic display banners across drastically different aspect ratios * Ability to take a detailed creative brief and translate it into engaging creative without requiring constant direction * Strong attention to detail * Excellent communication and professionalism * Ability to self-manage, work efficiently, and consistently meet deadlines Experience with Lightroom and basic photo editing is also a plus. Important: We’re Looking for Design Talent, Not Just Software Skills Knowing how to use Canva and CapCut isn’t enough. We’re specifically looking for someone who understands why a design works—how to create hierarchy, direct the viewer’s eye, communicate a message in seconds, choose the right imagery, and adapt creative for different audiences and placements. AI can absolutely be part of your workflow, but AI-generated creative is not a substitute for strong design skills. We’re looking for someone who brings genuine creative judgment and design expertise to the table. Timeline & Availability We are hiring immediately and would like this project to begin ASAP. Our target schedule is: Project Start: Immediately Initial Concepts: Ideally by August 19 Final Deliverables: August 27 Please only apply if your current workload allows you to comfortably meet these deadlines. We value quality, but we also work in a fast-moving agency environment, so the ability to produce excellent work efficiently is very important. Ongoing Opportunity This is not intended to be a one-off freelance project. If we’re a good fit, you should have the ongoing bandwidth for at least 10–12 hours of work per month, with the likelihood of significantly more. We anticipate approximately 3–6 projects per month initially, and this could easily develop into a much larger freelance role as our agency continues to grow. We already have additional projects waiting for the right candidate. Upcoming client work spans industries including: * Restaurants and hospitality * Entertainment venues * Automotive restoration * Foodservice and restaurant equipment * Trade associations * Dispensaries * B2B companies * And more The variety is significant, so we’re looking for someone who enjoys working across different brands, audiences, and creative styles. Compensation $350 flat fee for this initial paid trial project. Because this is our first project together, we’re treating it as an opportunity for both sides to determine whether we’re a good long-term fit. Rates will increase for future projects if we continue working together. How to Apply Please include all of the following with your proposal: 1. A brief introduction about yourself and your professional design experience 2. Your resume 3. Confirmation that you have Canva Pro and CapCut Pro 4. Confirmation that you can begin immediately 5. Confirmation that you can provide initial concepts by August 19 and complete the project by August 27 6. Confirmation that you have bandwidth for at least 10–12 hours per month of ongoing work after this project 7. Multiple examples of paid digital advertising creative you’ve personally designed, ideally including: * Meta/Facebook/Instagram ads * Animated social ads * Short-form/Reel-style promotional videos * Digital/programmatic banner ads Please prioritize examples of actual paid advertising creative rather than general social media posts, logos, branding projects, or unrelated graphic design work. We’re reviewing applicants immediately and plan to hire quickly so we can begin the project ASAP. If you’re a strong designer who understands paid advertising, works efficiently, communicates well, and is looking for a potentially substantial ongoing agency relationship, we’d love to see your work.
