Youth Crews is looking for an experienced freelance designer to become our go-to for packaging, print and some digital design work. ABOUT US Youth Crews makes diapers for disabled kids who've outgrown the baby aisle but aren't ready for adult products. We launched in 2025 and were started by a medical dad who wanted more for his daughter. We serve kids ages 4 to 17 along with the parents and caregivers who show up for them every day. Fit, comfort, and dignity are the whole point. Our brand deliberately doesn't look medical. Electric pink and bright green, a checkerboard pattern, and a punk-rock streak. We have a complete brand guide you'd design from, so you won't be guessing at our system. THE ARRANGEMENT This isn't a one-off project. We want an ongoing, as-needed relationship with someone who learns our brand and can pick up work as it comes. Volume varies — some months there's nothing, other months we'll have packaging and event collateral running at once. We scope and brief each project individually. WHAT YOU'D WORK ON - Product packaging and labels — concept through print-ready files, working directly with dielines and manufacturer specs - Print collateral — event materials, signage, and one-off print pieces - Brand asset updates — extending and applying our existing brand system to new formats WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR - Demonstrated packaging experience. Please point us to packaging work in your portfolio. - Print production fluency. - Process ownership. We've struggled with version control on past packaging projects…too many rounds, too many files in circulation, no clear final. - We want someone who brings a clear system for managing revisions and delivering one unambiguous, print-ready final. - An actual opinion. We're not looking for an order-taker. If the brief is wrong, if a request won't print well, or if you think there's a better approach, please say so, early and directly. We'd rather hear it in round one than after the proof comes back. - You'd work from our complete brand guide. - Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and InDesign. NICE TO HAVE - Experience with kid-focused, education, or mission-driven organizations - Comfort building reusable templates our in-house team can maintain between projects - Experience designing for a product in a claims-regulated category, like medical devices, supplements, CBD, cosmetics, or food. (You'll know why we're careful about wording.)
