Freelance Social Media Content Creator & Grant Writer Henderson Horizons is seeking a creative, organized, and resourceful freelancer to support our social media presence and grant-seeking efforts. Henderson Horizons is a behavioral health and wellness company committed to supporting Black men and boys through therapy, coaching, educational resources, workshops, and culturally responsive community programming. This role is ideal for someone who can communicate a meaningful mission through engaging digital content while identifying and pursuing funding opportunities that support the growth of community-centered programs. Key Responsibilities Social Media Content Creation * Create engaging content for Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and other relevant platforms. * Design branded graphics, carousels, promotional flyers, and short-form video content. * Write and edit captions that reflect the voice, mission, and values of Henderson Horizons. * Develop and maintain a monthly social media content calendar. * Repurpose workshops, presentations, articles, videos, and educational material into social media content. * Schedule and publish approved content consistently. * Promote workshops, speaking engagements, digital products, coaching services, and community events. * Monitor engagement and provide basic monthly performance updates. * Maintain consistent branding and messaging across all platforms. Grant Research and Writing * Research grant opportunities that align with the mission, programs, and business structure of Henderson Horizons. * Identify funding opportunities available to small businesses, single-member LLCs, Black-owned businesses, behavioral health programs, and community-based initiatives. * Maintain an organized grant tracker containing eligibility requirements, deadlines, award amounts, and application status. * Review funding guidelines and assess whether Henderson Horizons is a strong candidate. * Draft and edit grant applications, letters of inquiry, program descriptions, organizational narratives, and supporting materials. * Collaborate with the founder to gather program details, budgets, outcomes, and other required information. * Tailor existing organizational language to meet the requirements of individual funding opportunities. * Proofread applications for clarity, accuracy, consistency, and completeness. * Assist with submitting applications and maintaining copies of submitted materials. * Track application outcomes, reporting requirements, and follow-up deadlines. * Help develop reusable grant materials, including organizational background, statements of need, program goals, evaluation plans, and standard funding narratives. Preferred Qualifications * Experience in social media content creation, digital marketing, grant research, or grant writing. * Strong writing, editing, research, and organizational skills. * Demonstrated ability to communicate a mission clearly and persuasively. * Proficiency with Canva and social media scheduling platforms. * Familiarity with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office. * Experience using grant databases or researching foundation, corporate, and government funding opportunities. * Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently. * Comfortable receiving feedback and revising written content. * Experience working with mental health, wellness, education, youth development, community organizations, or Black-owned businesses is preferred. * An understanding of culturally responsive communication and issues affecting Black men and boys is strongly valued. Freelance Arrangement This is a part-time, independent contractor opportunity with flexible hours. The freelancer will work remotely and coordinate regularly with the founder of Henderson Horizons. Hours and workload may vary based on content campaigns, upcoming programs, events, and grant deadlines. Compensation will be based on experience, availability, and the agreed-upon scope of work.
