Freelance Womenswear Designer: Contemporary Resortwear We are a fast-growing contemporary womenswear brand seeking an experienced Fashion Designer to work closely with our Creative Director on seasonal collections. Our brand is known for bold prints, effortless silhouettes, and elevated resort dressing. We create all prints in-house, your focus will be designing exceptional silhouettes that showcase them. This is not a production or technical design role. We're looking for a designer with a strong creative eye who can develop beautiful, commercially successful silhouettes for the contemporary U.S. market. You should have a deep understanding of current fashion trends, customer preferences, fit, proportion, and what drives sell-through in premium ready-to-wear and resortwear. We're looking for someone who brings fresh ideas, thinks strategically about the collection, and can become a true right hand to the Creative Director. What You'll Do * Develop seasonal womenswear silhouettes across dresses, separates, tops, pants, skirts, and occasion pieces. * Collaborate directly with the Creative Director from concept through finalized designs. * Translate creative direction into cohesive, commercially viable collections. * Create clean fashion sketches and CADs. * Research trends while maintaining a distinctive brand aesthetic. * Contribute ideas for trims, construction details, proportions, and styling. * Help evolve the brand's signature design language over time. We're Looking For Someone Who * Has 5+ years of experience designing contemporary or premium womenswear for established brands. * Has experience with resortwear, vacation wear, RTW, or luxury contemporary brands. * Has an exceptional eye for silhouette, proportion, drape, and fit. * Understands how to balance creativity with commercial appeal. * Can work independently while collaborating closely with a Creative Director. * Has excellent communication skills and is highly organized. * Is comfortable working across multiple collections throughout the year. * Experience with printed collections. * Experience designing for premium wholesale retailers. * Knowledge of garment construction and fabric behavior.
