Freelance Exhibition Stand Designer – Ongoing Work We are an Australian custom exhibition stand design and build company looking for an experienced freelance exhibition stand designer for ongoing project work. Must be able to know Australian expo design rules This role is specifically for designers with proven experience designing custom trade show and exhibition stands. We are not looking for a general interior designer, architect or 3D visualiser. You must understand how exhibition stands are actually built, priced and delivered, and be able to create concepts that are visually strong, practical and fabrication-friendly. What we need You will receive a client brief, stand size, show requirements, branding assets and budget guidance. From this, you will be expected to develop a complete exhibition stand concept including: * Creative stand design * 3D rendered views * Floor plan * Elevations * Accurate dimensions * Clear stand orientation * Branding placement * Lighting concepts * Furniture and functional areas * Storage requirements * Screens / AV locations * Rigging where relevant * Visitor flow and access * Practical build considerations Designs must be suitable for real exhibition production, not just look good in a render. Design standard We are looking for someone who understands: * Custom exhibition stand construction * Stand height and organiser restrictions * Open and inviting stand layouts * Visitor traffic flow * Long-distance brand visibility * Strong focal points * Integration of lighting and signage * Backlit logos and lightboxes * LED lighting * Rigging structures * Curves, arches and creative geometry * Storage and functional spaces * Furniture placement * Material selection * Graphics * Buildability * Budget awareness Every concept should have a strong design idea or memorable feature. We do not want repetitive booth designs or basic box-style stands. You should also be confident challenging a brief where you believe there is a stronger design solution. Technical expectations All concepts must be presented clearly and professionally. We expect: * Floor plans * Elevations * Stand number and orientation * Page numbers * Clearly labelled views * Accurate dimensions * Clear power and screen locations where required * Source files supplied on completion Please advise which software you use. 3ds Max, SketchUp, AutoCAD, V-Ray, Corona or similar exhibition-design software is preferred. Who we want You should have: * Strong custom exhibition stand experience * A portfolio showing completed trade show booth designs * Excellent 3D rendering ability * Good technical understanding * Strong attention to detail * Good written English * Fast turnaround times * The ability to work from written briefs * The ability to manage revisions efficiently * Reliable communication Experience designing stands for international or Australian exhibitions will be highly regarded. Ongoing work This is not a one-off job. We are looking to build a long-term relationship with one or more strong freelance designers who can support us across multiple projects each month. We will initially provide a paid test project using a previous exhibition brief. The successful designer will be considered for ongoing work. To apply Please include: 1.
