Summary

We are looking for a native French-speaking proofreader with a background in automotive engineering or electrical/electronic systems to review an AI-assisted English-to-French translation of a technical white paper. About the document: The white paper is an 11-page B2B marketing piece, covering generative E/E (electrical/electronic) design for automotive applications. Topics include ECU consolidation, wire harness design, wiring synthesis, digital twin, MCAD/ECAD integration, and platform-level topology. The document has been translated from English to French using an AI translation tool and has not yet been reviewed by a human proofreader. What you'll be doing: Review the French translation for accuracy, naturalness, and fluency Verify that technical and automotive engineering terminology is correct and consistent throughout (E/E, ECU, faisceau de câbles, topologie, synthèse de câblage, jumeau numérique, etc.) Ensure abbreviations are handled correctly on first use (e.g., "électrique/électronique (E/E)" on first occurrence, then "E/E") Flag any unnatural phrasing or calques from English Check consistency of formal B2B tone appropriate for a French engineering audience Leave tracked changes or comments directly in the Word document What you must NOT change: Labels in square brackets such as [EYEBROW], [TITLE], [HEADER], [SUBHEADER], [FOOTER], [DIAGRAM TEXT], [Block 1], [Caption text], etc. These are design markers for our production team and must remain in English exactly as written Proper nouns: Siemens, Capital, NX, Xcelerator, Teamcenter URLs, phone numbers, copyright lines, product codes Abbreviations kept in English by convention: OEM, PLM, MCAD, ECAD, IOS, BOM Deliverable: The proofread Word (.docx) file with tracked changes. A brief note (a few lines) on any major terminology decisions or recurring issues found is appreciated but not required. Requirements: Native French speaker (mandatory) Background in automotive engineering, electrical/electronic systems, or related technical field Experience with B2B technical content in French Comfortable working in Microsoft Word with tracked changes Reliable turnaround within 3 business days Project size: Small (approx. 3,500 words of translatable text)
