Job Description: We are developing a comprehensive medical roster and workforce management system. The team has already come up with rough draft designs for both web and mobile, but they require layout adjustments, UX/UI design, refine, and complete frontend implementation. We have a dedicated Backend Engineer handling all database architecture, business logic, and APIs. Your focus will be frontend engineering, UI implementation, and redesign/refine usability in Figma before coding. Platform Distribution: • Web App (Manager/Admin Focused): Administrative dashboards, progressive schedule builders, template management, department settings, and analytics. • Mobile App (Dual-Purpose): Staff self-service (viewing shifts, slot-picking, swap requests) and mobile schedule management for managers on the go. This is a milestone-based engagement with the potential for long-term collaboration across our upcoming product portfolio. Detailed Scope of Work: You will be responsible for building the frontend interfaces for the following core features: You will build and integrate frontend interfaces across the following core modules: 1. Dashboard & Overview (Web & Mobile): o Build the main executive overview displaying key operational KPIs, staffing coverage charts, and quick-action shortcuts. 2. Schedule Viewing & Management (Web & Mobile): o Implement interactive schedules with support for Day, Week, and Month views. o Support both Calendar Grid and List View modes. o Display role-based coverage (e.g., "ED Physician On-Call - Dr. Tim") and custom hospital shift codes (e.g., Triage, Red, Yellow). 3. Progressive Schedule Builder & Import Tools (Web-First): o Build a multi-step (progressive) schedule creation wizard for managers. o Implement template creation and re-use tools. o Build an Excel import and export interface allowing managers to upload and map external schedule spreadsheets or export as excel or pdf. 4. Slot Pick & Broadcast Leave Campaign (Web & Mobile): o Build the workflow for managers to broadcast slot-picking campaigns, allowing staff to select preferred leave months and unavailable days based on customizable templates. o Build the mobile interface for staff to submit their slot-pick preferences. 5. Requests, Swaps & Approvals Hub (Web & Mobile): o Create an organized Requests page for managers to review, accept, decline, or modify incoming leave, time-off, and shift swaps. o Implement peer-to-peer swap workflows for staff on mobile, including conflict validation (greying out unavailable/unqualified staff). 6. Live Shift Directory & Quick Actions (Mobile-First): o Real-time "Who's on Shift?" directory grouped by department and role. o Action triggers: click-to-message role, call role, view provider profile, and check upcoming handover coverage. 7. Conflict & Safety Engine UI (Web & Mobile): o Visual indicators and alert banners for scheduling conflicts (overlapping shifts, leave conflicts, unqualified assignments, and handover gaps). 8. Settings & Rules Configuration (Web-First): o Build configuration pages for department defaults, assignment rules, broadcast settings, and the audit log viewer. 9. Mobile Push Notifications & Alerts (Mobile-First): • Implement deep integration for mobile push notifications (iOS/Android) triggered by scheduling events. • Design and build the notification preferences panel in the user profile settings, allowing users to toggle notification types (push vs. in-app notifications) and set quiet hours. 10. Platform Integration with the Main Helix App (API-Driven): • Connect and integrate the Helix Scheduling module with the existing core Helix application ecosystem. • Integrate with the main Helix app’s global API to pull shared employee data, authentication states, and existing user profiles, preventing redundant data entry. • Ensure that quick communication actions (calling/messaging a role) route seamlessly through the main Helix app's communication protocols. Required Technical Stack & Skills: • Web: React, Next.js, TypeScript. • Mobile: React Native, TypeScript (Native development using Kotlin or Swift is acceptable if necessary for specific mobile requirements). • Figma Proficiency: You must have the ability to review existing draft designs, redesign/refine the UX/UI, and maintain a consistent component library. • State & Data Management: Experience integrating complex REST APIs, handling spreadsheet uploads/parsing, and managing real-time data states (WebSockets). Preferred Experience (A Plus): • Prior experience building workforce management tools, shift scheduling platforms, high-density data tables, or healthcare SaaS applications.
