Frontend Operations Manager Shopify Stores
Worldwide
We're a fast-growing e-commerce group running roughly 50 Shopify stores across multiple legal entities, on the way to 100. Our backend (disputes, fulfillment, CS) runs on its own team, and we have a dedicated media buyer handling Google Ads. This role is the other half of the business: everything the customer actually sees — product listings, new store launches, and store optimization across the full portfolio. Right now one of our founders runs this side personally: he owns the product listing department, launches and rebuilds stores, and functions as our head of growth. He's at capacity. We're hiring the person who takes those departments over, runs them properly, and builds them into machines — across a portfolio heading toward 100 stores. We're not a side hustle. This is a serious operation, and we're building it like one. What we're hiring for: We're looking for a Frontend Operations Manager — a true A-player who owns the front end of the business end to end. You will manage the departments that build and maintain our storefronts, and act as the link between our media buyer and those departments, working directly alongside our founder. If you've built and scaled Shopify stores before, know what a Google Shopping campaign needs from a storefront to perform, and get genuinely annoyed by a process that isn't documented or automated — we want to talk. What you'll own (We have teams with employees and managers in each department, but you will be ultimately responsible for all of them.) Product Listing Department (~35% of role) - Own the full product listing operation across our store portfolio - Manage the listing team: throughput, quality standards, turnaround times - Guard consistency across stores — titles, descriptions, imagery, variants, categorization - Build and enforce listing SOPs so quality doesn't depend on who happens to do the work - Catch and fix listing errors before they cost us ad spend or conversions New Store Launches & Store Optimization (~30%) - Launch new Shopify stores end to end: theme, structure, navigation, collections, policies, checkout - Rebuild and improve existing stores — layout, UX, page speed, conversion elements - Keep branding coherent across a portfolio that keeps growing - Own launch timelines and make sure a store goes live complete, not "mostly done" Media Buyer Coordination (~20%) You are not running the ads — we have a strong media buyer for that. You are the person who makes sure everything he needs on the store side is actually there. - Daily contact with our media buyer: what needs fixing, what needs building, what's blocking spend - Translate his requests into concrete work for the product listing and store optimization departments - Own feed quality and feed tooling (Simprosys, Multifeeds, Pythago or similar) - Resolve Merchant Center issues: disapprovals, suspensions, policy flags, feed errors - Report back to the founders: what's blocking growth, what's been solved, what needs a decision Systems & Process Innovation (~15%) - Turn everything above into documented, repeatable systems - Build launch checklists, listing playbooks, QA processes, templates - Find the repetitive work and automate it — with AI where it makes sense - Make the operation less dependent on any single person, including yourself Who you are This is a manager role, not a VA role. We're looking for someone who: - Has built, launched and managed multiple Shopify stores — not just one - Understands Google Shopping well enough to speak a media buyer's language — feeds, product data, Merchant Center - Can lead a team: set standards, review work, give feedback, raise the bar - Thinks in systems — you don't just fix the problem, you fix the reason it happened - Is proactive — you don't wait to be told what to do, you spot problems and propose fixes - Has taste — you can tell the difference between a store that looks cheap and one that looks like a brand - Owns outcomes, not tasks Must-haves * 3+ years running frontend / store operations for e-commerce (Shopify strongly preferred) * Hands-on experience launching and optimizing Shopify stores from scratch * Working knowledge of Google Shopping feeds and Merchant Center (you don't need to run campaigns, you need to unblock them) * Experience managing a team or department, not just executing solo * Comfortable working across multiple stores, brands and legal entities * Excellent written and spoken English * Self-managed — full-time available, reliable internet, professional setup * Available full-time (50 hrs/week), long-term commitment Nice-to-haves + Experience with feed tools (Simprosys, Multifeeds, Pythago) + Experience working alongside media buyers or external ad agencies + CRO / A-B testing experience + Shopify theme or Liquid experience + Background in fashion / branded DTC + Process documentation experience (writing SOPs, training others) + Comfort working with AI tools (we're heavily AI-augmented and will give you serious AI leverage) What we offer + Long-term, full-time role — we're hiring for years, not weeks + Competitive rate based on experience (range: $6–12/hr, open to higher for the right person) + Real ownership — you run departments, you're not a task-taker + AI leverage — we build AI agents to do the repetitive work so you can focus on judgment calls + Growth path — as we scale to 50–100 stores and a $100M brand portfolio, this role grows with us + Direct access to the founders — no middle layers, no politics, no nonsense How to apply We get a lot of templated applications. Here's how to make sure we read yours: Start your cover letter with the word "LAUNCH" so we know you actually read this post. Then, in your application, briefly tell us: 1. How many Shopify stores have you launched or managed simultaneously? Send links to 2–3 you worked on. 2. Describe a Google Shopping feed or Merchant Center problem you solved. What was broken, and how did you fix it? 3. Tell us about a process you built that made a team faster or more accurate. What was it, and what changed measurably? 4. How large was the team you managed, and what were you responsible for as their manager? 5. What's your timezone, and what hours can you commit to overlapping with CET (Netherlands)? 6. Why this role specifically — what about it fits where you want to go in the next 2–3 years? Applications without these answers will not be reviewed.
