Summary

Full-Stack Developer to Build Launch-Ready Kosher Raffles MVP Overview We are looking for an experienced full-stack developer or small development team to build Kosher Raffles, an online platform that allows charitable organizations to offer raffles/sweepstakes and users to enter online. We are looking to build a lean, production-ready MVP that can be launched and used by real charities and customers. This is not a prototype or demo, but we also do not want to over-engineer the initial version. The goal is to build the essential functionality needed to launch the business, using proven third-party services/APIs where practical, while keeping the architecture flexible enough to add additional automation and features later. Legal/compliance requirements are being reviewed separately by counsel and will be incorporated into the final platform requirements. Core MVP Functionality 1. Public Website / Raffle Marketplace Users should be able to: * Browse active raffle campaigns * View individual campaign and prize details * Select entry/ticket packages * Enter and pay online * Use an Alternative Method of Entry (AMOE/free entry) where required * Create/login to an account * View their entries * Receive confirmation of successful entries * Share campaigns/prizes through social media and shareable links * Use the platform easily on desktop and mobile 2. Payments & Entry Tracking The platform should: * Integrate with an established payment processor * Securely process payments * Accurately assign entries based on the selected package * Maintain a reliable and auditable record of all paid and free entries * Prevent duplicate or incorrect entry creation * Support refunds/cancellations administratively where needed Final payment flow and legal structure will be based on guidance from legal counsel and the selected payment processor. 3. Campaign & Charity Management For the MVP, we do not require a highly automated self-service charity portal. The system should allow the Kosher Raffles administrator to: * Create and manage participating charities * Create/edit raffle campaigns * Add prizes, photos, descriptions, entry options, dates and rules * Activate/deactivate campaigns * View campaign activity and entries * Export relevant campaign/entry information The architecture should allow a more robust self-service charity portal to be added later. 4. Kosher Raffles Admin Portal A secure admin area should allow us to: * Manage users * Manage charities * Create/manage campaigns and prizes * View payments and entries * View free/AMOE entries * Make administrative adjustments where appropriate * Export data/reports * Close campaigns * Manage winners * Access basic audit/history information The admin portal should prioritize functionality and simplicity over complex analytics or automation. 5. Drawing / Winner Management The system should support a simple, secure and auditable process for selecting or recording winners. The exact drawing methodology will be finalized based on legal requirements. We do not need an elaborate live-drawing system for the MVP. 6. Legal / Compliance Functionality The platform must be designed so that legal requirements identified by counsel can be incorporated, including potentially: * Required disclosures and official rules * Alternative/free method of entry * Eligibility restrictions * State/geographic restrictions * Entry limits * Required recordkeeping * Campaign-specific terms We are currently completing a 50-state legal review, so some specific compliance requirements may be finalized during development. 7. Technical Requirements The finished MVP should include: * Responsive mobile and desktop design * Secure user authentication * Appropriate admin permissions * Secure database * Payment integration * Email confirmations/notifications * Basic error logging and monitoring * Backups * Staging and production environments * Deployment to production * Reasonable security best practices * Source code and all project assets owned by the client We are open to the recommended technology stack. Preference will be given to solutions that use reliable existing services rather than unnecessarily building standard functionality from scratch. What Is NOT Required for the Initial MVP To keep the first version lean and cost-effective, the initial launch does not need: * A sophisticated self-service charity onboarding system * Advanced charity dashboards * Advanced analytics * Fully automated payouts * Complex automated compliance engines * Extensive workflow automation * Custom-built functionality where an established third-party service can reasonably accomplish the same objective * Features that can reasonably be handled manually by the Kosher Raffles administrator during the initial launch These capabilities may be added in later phases as the platform grows. Design The website should look professional, modern, trustworthy and simple to use. An existing concept/prototype can be provided as a starting point for the desired user experience and general design direction. We are open to improvements and recommendations from the selected developer. Project Goal The goal is straightforward: Build the simplest version of Kosher Raffles that is legally compliant, secure, professional and fully capable of launching with real charities, real users, real entries and real payments. We would rather launch a strong, focused MVP and add automation/features based on actual usage than spend significant time and money building functionality before it is needed. Proposed Milestones Milestone 1 – Discovery, Final Requirements & Architecture * Review existing concept * Confirm MVP requirements * Recommend technology stack * Finalize database/payment architecture * Incorporate available legal requirements Milestone 2 – Frontend & Core Platform * Public website * Campaign/prize pages * User accounts * Responsive design * Social sharing Milestone 3 – Payments & Entry System * Payment integration * Entry package logic * Entry ledger/tracking * AMOE/free entry functionality * Confirmation emails Milestone 4 – Admin Portal * Charity management * Campaign/prize management * User and entry management * Basic reporting/exporting * Campaign controls Milestone 5 – Drawing, Compliance & Final Functionality * Winner/drawing functionality * Required disclosures/rules * Geographic/eligibility functionality required by counsel * Final administrative functionality Milestone 6 – QA & Production Launch * End-to-end testing * Payment testing * Mobile/browser testing * Security review * Bug fixes * Production deployment * Launch support When Applying Please include: 1. Examples of similar web applications/platforms you have built. 2. Your experience with payment integrations and transactional websites. 3. Your recommended technology stack and why. 4. How you would keep this MVP simple and cost-effective while making it production-ready. 5. Your estimated development timeline. 6. Your fixed-price estimate, including pricing by milestone. 7. What is included in post-launch bug fixes/support. We are specifically interested in developers who understand the difference between a launch-ready MVP and an over-engineered first version. Please begin your proposal with “KOSHER RAFFLES!” so we know you reviewed the full posting.
