Full-Stack Developer - NFC “Tap-to-Story” Smart-Packaging MVP (Next.js / Node / AWS)

The project in one line Tap a premium spice jar with your phone → its origin story, grower, freshness, recipes, and one-tap reorder open instantly. No app to install. We have a working code scaffold; we need a senior full-stack developer to finish it into a polished, production-ready MVP. About us Trevean Spice is a premium spice-subscription brand. NFC-enabled smart packaging is our defining differentiator: the “tap the jar, get the story” experience that connects customers to where their spices come from. This MVP is the first shippable version of that platform, targeting a September 2026 launch. What you’ll build (web-first MVP) • Consumer PWA: mobile-optimized Next.js landing pages that server-render each blend’s story from our API ( less than 2s load on 4G, Lighthouse greater than or equal to 90). • Backend API: Node/TypeScript REST API on AWS backed by DynamoDB (schema already defined: SpiceBlends, ScanEvents, Recipes, Growers, NFCTags). • Admin CMS: so our marketing team edits blends, recipes, growers, and media without a developer. • Chip-programming tooling: CLI / batch workflow to encode NTAG216 tags with the correct NDEF URL, plus a QR fallback that resolves to the same page. • Analytics dashboard: scan tracking (NFC vs QR, device, city-level, engagement). • Shopify Plus integration hooks: reorder “add to cart,” product-catalog sync, and an order webhook. • AWS deployment, device-matrix testing, and clean handoff docs. The native React Native app is out of scope for this engagement (deferred to a later phase). Must-have skills • Strong Next.js / React + TypeScript; server-side rendering and PWA/mobile-web performance. • Node/TypeScript backend + AWS (Lambda/API Gateway or similar, DynamoDB, S3/CloudFront). • Comfortable auditing and extending an existing codebase rather than rebuilding from scratch. • Shopify (Storefront/Admin API) integration experience. • Clear written English and reliable weekly overlap with US Pacific time. Nice to have NFC / NDEF or QR-driven web experiences · headless CMS work · consumer-facing brand/product polish · basic analytics instrumentation. Engagement & budget Fixed-price, milestone-based. Target budget $18,000–$30,000 for the scope above, paid across five milestones. Strong solo developers and small 2-person teams are both welcome to bid; boutique studios may propose higher with justification. Serious, well-scoped proposals will be prioritized over the lowest bid. How we work Weekly 30-min sync, short async updates, shared channel, and a lightweight change-request process.
