Full-Stack Developer Needed: Astro 5, React, NestJS & PostgreSQL – Wix Migration (kitkiatstudio.com)
Worldwide
PRD (Google Doc): (link removed) We are seeking an experienced full-stack developer to completely rebuild and migrate KitKiatStudio.com from Wix to a lightweight, client-owned website and custom content management system. This is an end-to-end implementation—not an MVP, template installation, or simple visual redesign. The completed platform will support music releases, books, Chinese-language blog content, media, enquiries, SEO management, and future integration with our external commerce platform. Preferred Technology Stack * Public website: Astro 5, TypeScript and Tailwind CSS * Interactive components: React where required * Admin CMS: React, TypeScript and Vite * Backend/API: NestJS with TypeScript * Database: PostgreSQL with Prisma * Media storage: Tencent Cloud COS or equivalent client-owned object storage * Infrastructure: Tencent Cloud Lighthouse, Ubuntu LTS, Nginx and Let’s Encrypt * Source control: Client-owned GitHub repositories * Environments: Separate local/development, UAT and production environments Any proposed deviation from this stack must be explained and approved before development. The solution must remain lightweight and must not introduce unnecessary subscriptions, vendor lock-in, or disproportionate operational complexity. Project Scope 1. Public Website Rebuild KitKiatStudio.com with a modern, responsive, mobile-first design while preserving its recognizable personal and artistic identity. The main public areas include: * Home * Music and individual release pages * Books and individual book pages * Blog, categories, tags and article pages * Contact page and enquiry form * Privacy page * Custom 404 page The website will be Chinese-first but must use English-ready and translation-ready content structures. 2. Custom Admin CMS Develop a secure, owner-managed CMS that allows routine content updates without developer assistance. The administrator must be able to: * Create and manage unlimited albums, EPs, singles and books * Create, preview, schedule, publish, unpublish and archive blog posts * Manage tracks, credits, lyrics, cover artwork and galleries * Add multiple streaming platforms and exact release links * Upload or select platform and retailer logos * Manage books, editions, ISBNs, endorsements, videos and purchase links * Manage pages, navigation, footer, social links and SEO settings * Moderate comments and manage contact enquiries * Manage media with drag-and-drop uploading and ordering * View audit history and restore soft-deleted content The dashboard must include prominent actions for: * * New Album * * New Book * * New Blog Post * Upload Media 3. Reusable Visual Section Builder Home, Music and Book pages must use reusable structured sections instead of fixed, developer-coded layouts. The administrator must be able to add, duplicate, edit, show or hide, schedule, publish, archive, restore and drag-and-drop reorder supported sections. Required section types include: * Hero * Rich text * Image-and-text layout * Gallery * Featured albums * Album grid * Track list * Video or embedded media * Featured book * Latest posts * Testimonials or endorsements * Partner logos * Call-to-action Design options should remain within a controlled design system to prevent inconsistent page layouts. 4. Music and Media Features Music releases must support: * Unlimited albums, EPs, singles and future release types * Drag-and-drop track, gallery and section ordering * Credits, lyrics, genres, languages and release metadata * Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, Amazon Music, SoundCloud and custom platforms * Accessible platform-logo buttons linking to the exact release * Approved embeds, external links or licensed audio previews * Audio controls with play/pause, progress, volume and track selection * No autoplay and only one audio source playing at a time * Responsive and lazy-loaded video or media embeds 5. Blog and Editorial Publishing The blog must include: * Rich-text editor * Draft and secure preview * Scheduled publishing * Categories and tags * Keyword search * Pagination and related posts * Cover images, excerpts and estimated reading time * Author and publication metadata * SEO and social-sharing fields * Optional moderated comments * Exportable content and media manifest 6. Wix Content and SEO Migration The selected developer will inventory and migrate valid content from the existing Wix website, including: * Pages and page sections * Blog posts and metadata * Categories and tags * Images and other media * Approved comments * External purchase and streaming links * Contact-form configuration * SEO titles, descriptions, canonical URLs and social metadata The developer must preserve indexed URLs wherever practical and create tested 301 redirects for any approved URL changes. A migration manifest, URL mapping and page-by-page reconciliation must be provided. Wix-hosted media must be downloaded, optimized and transferred to client-owned storage. Outdated or inaccurate content must be flagged for review rather than copied blindly. 7. PlenorHub Commerce Integration KitKiat Studio will integrate with our separate PlenorHub commerce platform. The website will: * Map books to PlenorHub products, SKUs and variants * Display imported price, availability, variants and product information * Show synchronization status and errors in Admin * Hand customers to PlenorHub-controlled cart or checkout * Receive signed checkout status callbacks where required PlenorHub remains the source of truth for products, inventory, orders, shipping and fulfilment. KitKiat Studio must not create a duplicate payment, inventory, order, refund or fulfilment system. 8. Quality Requirements The completed website should provide: * Mobile-first responsive design * Strong SEO and structured data * Lighthouse Performance target of at least 90 on representative public pages * WCAG 2.2 AA-oriented accessibility * Secure authentication and role-based access * Protection against common web vulnerabilities * Rate limiting and anti-spam protection for public forms * Automated database and media backups * Documented restore and rollback procedures * Compatibility with current major desktop and mobile browsers Deliverables * Complete public website and custom Admin CMS * Backend API and database implementation * Wix content and media migration * URL and redirect mapping * PlenorHub integration * Separate UAT and production deployments * Source code in client-owned GitHub repositories * Database schemas and migrations * Test evidence for functionality, responsiveness, security, SEO and performance * Deployment, backup, restore and rollback documentation * Environment-variable template * Admin user guide and recorded handover * Production cutover support * 30-day defect warranty after acceptance All domains, repositories, infrastructure, storage, databases, credentials and third-party accounts must remain under client ownership. Ideal Developer Please apply only if you have strong, demonstrable experience with most of the following: * Astro and modern static/server-rendered websites * React and TypeScript * NestJS or secure Node.js backend development * PostgreSQL and Prisma * Custom CMS or admin-dashboard development * Wix or legacy website migration * Technical SEO and 301 redirect preservation * Object storage and media optimization * Tencent Cloud or comparable Linux cloud deployment * Third-party API, webhook and checkout integrations * UAT-to-production release management * Clear technical documentation and handover Application Requirements Generic applications or demo using AI that do not address the technology stack and migration requirements may not be considered. The complete PRD will be provided to shortlisted candidates for detailed quotation.
