Summary

Full-Stack Developer Needed – QR-Based Smart Site Platform for RV Parks Project Type: Web Application / SaaS Development Initial Engagement: Fixed-price MVP with potential ongoing development Industry: RV Parks / Outdoor Hospitality / Property Technology Project Overview We are developing a new Smart Site QR Code platform for RV parks, campgrounds, resorts, and outdoor hospitality properties. Our physical Smart Site Marker is already being developed and incorporates a unique QR code at each RV site. When a guest scans the QR code with their smartphone, they will be taken to a mobile-friendly digital page specifically associated with that site and property. We are looking for an experienced full-stack developer or small development team to build the software platform that powers these QR codes. The objective is to create a simple system that allows an RV park to manage its own property information without requiring technical knowledge or ongoing assistance from us. Guest Experience No app download should be required. A guest scans the QR code using the camera on an iPhone or Android device and is immediately taken to the appropriate Smart Site page. The page may display: • RV site number • Welcome message • Park map • Wi-Fi network and access information • Check-in/check-out instructions • Park rules • Amenities • Restrooms and shower locations • Pool information • Laundry facilities • Trash and recycling locations • Emergency information • Office/contact information • Local restaurants and attractions • Events and activities • Links to reservation or payment systems • Maintenance/service requests • Additional park-defined information The architecture should allow additional features to be added later. RV Park Management Portal Each participating RV park should receive a secure administrative account. The park administrator should be able to: • Create and edit property information • Add and manage individual RV sites • Assign a unique QR code to each site • Upload park maps, photographs, PDFs, and documents • Change Wi-Fi information • Update rules and policies • Add amenities • Add local attractions and businesses • Add emergency/contact information • Create links and buttons • Activate/deactivate sites • Preview pages before publishing • Make changes from a PC, Mac, tablet, or smartphone The system needs to be extremely simple for nontechnical users. QR Code Management The platform should support permanent/dynamic QR codes. The physical QR code installed at an RV site should not have to be replaced when the park changes its content. We envision a structure similar to: QR Code → Permanent Smart Site URL → Database Record → Current Site/Park Content An administrator should therefore be able to modify the destination content without changing the physical QR code. Multi-Property Architecture The application should be designed as a multi-tenant platform. For example: Functional Fox Administrator → RV Park A → Sites 1–150 → RV Park B → Sites 1–275 → RV Park C → Sites 1–80 Each customer must only have access to its own property and data. A Functional Fox master administrator should be able to create properties, manage customers, manage QR assignments, activate/deactivate accounts, and provide customer support. Analytics We would like basic analytics included in the MVP or designed into the architecture for a later phase. Potential reporting includes: • Total QR scans • Scans by site • Scans by property • Date/time of scans • Most frequently accessed information • Mobile device type • Guest engagement trends Privacy should be considered in the design. We do not want unnecessary collection of personally identifiable guest information. Future Integrations The platform should be built so APIs can eventually connect with RV park reservation/property-management systems and related technology. Potential future integrations may include platforms such as Newbook and other campground reservation/property-management systems. Future functionality could include: • Automatic site assignment • Reservation information • Guest-specific welcome pages • Digital check-in • Maintenance requests • License plate/access systems • Utility/energy information • Food or merchandise ordering • Local advertising • Revenue-generating park services These integrations are not necessarily required for the initial MVP, but the software architecture should not prevent them. Technical Requirements We are open to recommendations regarding the technology stack. The developer should be comfortable with: • Responsive web application development • Mobile-first UI/UX • Front-end development • Back-end development • Relational databases • Secure user authentication • Role-based permissions • Multi-tenant SaaS architecture • Cloud hosting • File/image storage • QR code generation and management • API development • SSL/security • Automated backups • Analytics • Production deployment AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, Vercel/Supabase, or comparable modern infrastructure may be proposed. We want the developer to recommend an architecture that balances security, scalability, simplicity, and reasonable monthly operating costs. Important Development Philosophy We do not want an unnecessarily complicated system. The first release should concentrate on the core workflow: Create Park → Create Sites → Assign QR Codes → Add Content → Guest Scans QR → Smart Site Page Opens The MVP should be built correctly so additional modules and integrations can be added without rebuilding the entire platform. Deliverables We expect the selected developer to provide: 1. Technical architecture recommendation 2. Database architecture 3. UI/UX design 4. Mobile guest-facing Smart Site pages 5. RV park administration portal 6. Functional Fox master administration portal 7. QR code generation/assignment system 8. Secure authentication and permissions 9. Cloud deployment 10. Basic analytics 11. Backup/recovery configuration 12. Source code 13. Technical documentation 14. Administrator documentation 15. Deployment documentation Functional Fox / Backyard Tools Corp. must own the completed source code and intellectual property developed specifically for this project. Who We're Looking For Preference will be given to developers who have experience building: • SaaS applications • Multi-tenant platforms • QR-code applications • Hospitality technology • Property-management software • Reservation systems • Customer self-service portals • Mobile-first web applications Experience integrating third-party APIs is highly desirable. When Applying Please provide: 1. Examples of similar applications you have built. 2. Your recommended technology stack and why. 3. Your approach to multi-tenant architecture. 4. Your recommendation for hosting. 5. Estimated monthly hosting/infrastructure cost for an early-stage system. 6. Estimated development timeline. 7. Fixed-price estimate for the MVP. 8. What you would include in Phase 1 versus postpone to Phase 2. 9. Your approach to security and backups. 10. Confirmation that all project-specific source code will be transferred to our company upon payment. Please begin your proposal with the words “SMART SITE” so we know you have read the entire project description. About the Product Functional Fox™ by Backyard Tools Corp. is developing physical and digital products for RV parks and outdoor hospitality properties designed to improve guest experience, site identification, wayfinding, property appearance, and park operations. The Smart Site platform will connect our physical QR-enabled site marker directly to the property's digital guest experience. We are looking for a developer who can help us build the initial platform and potentially become a long-term development partner as the product expands.
