# Full-Stack Developer Needed for US → Turkey E-Commerce / Personal Shopping Platform We are looking for an experienced **Full-Stack Developer** to complete and professionally develop a US-to-Turkey personal shopping and e-commerce platform. ## Current Project Status We already have a fairly advanced working version of the platform built with **Base44**, and the project is also connected to GitHub. However, **we do not need to continue using Base44**. We are open to: * Reviewing the existing Base44/GitHub project * Reusing or migrating any useful code, UI, logic, or components * Continuing development independently from Base44 * Moving to a more suitable custom technology stack * Rebuilding specific parts if technically necessary We would like the developer to first review the existing project and determine what is worth keeping. Our priority is creating a **secure, scalable, maintainable production system**, rather than staying with Base44 at all costs. ## Business Model The platform will allow customers in Turkey to purchase products from U.S. retailers. The main customer flow will be: 1. Customer finds a product on a supported U.S. retailer. 2. Customer pastes the product URL into our website. 3. The system retrieves/processes available product information such as: * Product name * Images * Price * Size/color variants * Product URL * Retailer * Product category 4. The platform calculates service fees, shipping costs, and, if possible, estimated Turkish customs/import costs. 5. The customer places the order and pays through our platform. 6. We purchase/receive the product in the U.S. and handle the international shipping process to Turkey. 7. The customer can track the order status through their account. Where official APIs, affiliate APIs, or authorized product feeds are available, we prefer using those. For retailers without an official API, we want the developer to recommend reliable and compliant alternatives rather than building the entire business around fragile scraping. ## Product URL Import System One of the most important features is the ability for customers to paste a U.S. retailer product URL. The system should automatically retrieve or identify as much information as possible, including: * Product title * Price * Images * Variants * Retailer * Product category * Availability The architecture should allow us to add more supported U.S. retailers in the future. ## Turkish Customs / HS Code (GTIP) Estimation System If technically possible, we would also like to build an intelligent **Turkish customs and import tax estimation system**. When a customer pastes a product URL, the system should attempt to: * Identify the product and its category * Determine or estimate the appropriate **HS Code / Turkish GTIP classification** * Apply relevant Turkish customs/import rules and taxes * Consider product price, shipping, and other applicable components * Calculate an estimated total customs/import cost We understand that HS/GTIP classification and final customs charges cannot always be determined with 100% certainty. Therefore, the system should **not present the estimate as a guaranteed customs charge**. When classification or tax treatment is uncertain, we would prefer the system to provide a **conservative estimate with an appropriate safety margin**, rather than underestimate the customer's potential cost. The website can clearly inform customers that the final amount may vary depending on the official customs classification and assessment. We would also like the admin panel to allow us to manually manage or update: * GTIP / HS classifications * Tax rates * Product categories * Special taxes or additional duties * Calculation rules Experience with customs APIs, tariff databases, HS classification systems, or cross-border e-commerce would be a major advantage. ## “Deals” Section — Products Sold Directly by Us The website will also have a separate **Deals / Featured Products** section. These are products that **we sell directly**, rather than products submitted by customers through external retailer links. For example, we may purchase discounted products in the U.S., hold inventory, and offer them directly to customers in Turkey. This section should function like a traditional e-commerce store and support: * Product title * Images * Description * Brand * Category * Regular price * Sale price * Discount percentage * Inventory * Size/color variants * Shipping information * Estimated customs/tax information * Add to cart * Checkout * Order tracking From the admin panel, we should be able to easily: * Add products * Edit products * Change prices * Manage inventory * Create discounts * Manage variants * Publish/unpublish products ## Main Features / Development Areas The project may include: * Product URL importing * Retailer API integrations * Product data synchronization * Price and availability updates * Product variants * Deals / direct-sale product section * Inventory management * Shopping cart * Checkout * Stripe/payment integration * Customer accounts * Customer dashboard * Order management * Admin dashboard * Service fee calculations * Shipping calculations * HS Code / GTIP classification * Turkish customs/tax estimation * Order tracking * Email notifications * Webhooks * Error handling and logging * Security improvements * Mobile-responsive design * Scalable backend architecture ## Website Language The customer-facing website will primarily be **in Turkish**. The developer does **not need to speak Turkish**. We can provide translations and required wording. However, the system should properly support Turkish characters/content and preferably be structured so additional languages can be added later. ## Ideal Experience We are particularly interested in developers with experience in: * Full-stack web development * E-commerce * Marketplace / personal shopping platforms * REST APIs * Third-party API integrations * Stripe/payment systems * Product/catalog systems * Database architecture * Authentication and security * Webhooks * Shipping/logistics integrations * Admin dashboards * Git/GitHub * Production deployment Experience working with product data from **Amazon, eBay, Walmart, Target, or similar major retailers** would be a strong advantage. Experience with **HS Codes, customs/tariff APIs, international shipping, or cross-border e-commerce** would also be highly valuable. ## Please Answer These Questions When Applying 1. Have you built an e-commerce, marketplace, dropshipping, personal shopping, or product aggregation platform before? 2. Which retailer/product APIs have you worked with? 3. How would you architect a system that imports product information from a retailer URL? 4. How would you handle retailers that do not provide an official API? 5. Can you review an existing Base44/GitHub project and migrate reusable parts into an independent application? 6. What technology stack would you recommend for this project, and why? 7. How would you approach automatically estimating an HS Code / Turkish GTIP classification from a product URL and product information? 8. How would you keep Turkish customs/tax rules and rates up to date? 9. How would you structure the direct-sale “Deals” products and customer-submitted retailer products within the same platform? 10. Please provide examples of similar projects you have built. **Important:** We are not looking for someone who simply generates websites using AI/no-code tools. We need a developer who understands the underlying architecture, APIs, backend systems, payment security, data integrity, and scalability. For the right developer, this can become a **long-term project** as we add additional retailers, shipping integrations, automation, customs functionality, and new features.
