Full-Stack Developer for Dental Radiology

We are looking for an experienced full-stack developer with AWS and healthcare/HIPAA experience to develop and launch a secure web-based dental radiology platform. The platform will allow dental clinics to securely submit CBCT/DICOM imaging cases to an oral and maxillofacial radiologist, track their cases, and receive completed radiology reports. Main Platform Features The platform should include: Secure accounts for dental clinics Clinic and administrator/radiologist dashboards New case submission with patient and scan information Secure upload and transfer of large CBCT/DICOM files Private Amazon S3 storage and secure file access Case status tracking (Submitted, In Review, Completed, etc.) Secure upload and delivery of completed radiology reports Email notifications for case submission and report completion Separation of clinic accounts so each clinic can access only its own cases and files Search and organization of submitted cases Secure user authentication Two-factor authentication (2FA), preferably using an authenticator app such as Google Authenticator Role-based access for clinic users, radiologists, and administrators Appropriate audit logging and security controls Billing/payment functionality for clinics Production deployment and testing HIPAA & Security Because the platform will handle Protected Health Information (PHI), experience developing healthcare applications and implementing HIPAA-related technical safeguards is very important. The developer should be experienced with: Encryption of data at rest and in transit Secure authentication and authorization Role-based access control Audit logging Secure handling of PHI Private S3 storage and secure file transfer AWS IAM and least-privilege access Secure database architecture Backup/recovery considerations HIPAA-eligible AWS services and appropriate healthcare cloud architecture We are looking for someone who understands that security and patient-data protection must be incorporated into the architecture from the beginning. Billing & Payments The platform will also require a billing/payment system for participating clinics. The exact billing workflow can be discussed with the selected developer. Ideally, the system should support tracking completed cases, generating or managing clinic charges/invoices, and securely processing payments through an appropriate payment provider. Existing Prototype A working prototype/codebase currently exists. The selected developer will first review the existing code and architecture and advise whether it is appropriate to: Continue and improve the existing system; Rebuild specific components; or Rebuild the application if necessary. We are not requiring the existing code to be used if a different architecture would provide better security, reliability, scalability, or long-term maintainability. Ideal Candidate We are particularly interested in developers with experience in: Full-stack SaaS/web application development AWS (especially S3) Healthcare or HIPAA-related applications Large file uploads and storage Authentication and 2FA Secure user/role management Payment or billing integrations Production deployment Application security Experience with DICOM, medical imaging, dental software, radiology platforms, or healthcare portals is a strong plus. Project Completion & Post-Launch Support This will be a milestone-based project. The project should include development, testing, production deployment, and a 60-day post-launch stabilization period. During the stabilization period, the developer will be expected to correct bugs or technical issues related to the agreed project scope and ensure that the core platform functions reliably in the production environment. A final project milestone will be associated with successful completion of the post-launch stabilization period.
