Full-Time Backend-Focused Full Stack Engineer (Next.js, NestJS, OpenCart & Journal)

ABOUT THE ROLE Full time employment job. This role is primarily focused on hardcore backend engineering, APIs, databases, financial systems, and production reliability, while also requiring the ability to work with our frontend. You will work across both our modern Next.js/NestJS platform and our OpenCart/Journal e-commerce platform. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR We are looking for a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to take ownership of our existing production logistics, fintech, and e-commerce platforms. You will maintain and improve existing frontend and backend modules, troubleshoot production issues, and design and build new features across shipping/logistics, e-commerce, payments, wallets, virtual cards, billing, customer accounts, inventory, orders, and third-party integrations. CORE TECHNOLOGIES Next.js / React NestJS / Node.js / TypeScript PostgreSQL REST APIs PHP OpenCart / Journal Theme / Twig MySQL / MariaDB HTML / CSS / JavaScript / jQuery Git / GitHub REQUIREMENTS Strong professional experience with Next.js/React and NestJS/Node.js Strong experience with PostgreSQL and MySQL/MariaDB Strong PHP, OpenCart and Journal Theme development experience, including custom extensions/modules Strong REST API and third-party integration experience Experience maintaining and troubleshooting live production systems Strong understanding of authentication, authorization, security, databases, and application architecture Ability to understand existing codebases and take ownership with minimal supervision FINTECH & PAYMENTS Strong fintech/payments experience is important, particularly: Wallets Ledgers and transaction histories Payment gateway integrations Webhooks Idempotency and duplicate transaction prevention Payment reconciliation Refunds and reversals Failed and pending transactions Transaction integrity and audit trails STRONG ADVANTAGE Experience with e-commerce, logistics/shipping systems, inventory management, multi-currency platforms, auctions/bidding, marketplaces, background jobs/queues, Redis, Docker, CI/CD, and cloud deployment.
