Summary

About us Studio Perno is a creative studio shaping brands, campaigns, experiences and ideas through strategy, art direction, design and production. We work by understanding the intention behind an idea, translating it into a clear creative direction, and developing the right form for it in the world. The role We’re looking for a full-time Brand & Content Strategist to lead the strategic thinking and creative development behind our clients’ content and social media presence. You’ll begin with the brand: what it stands for, how its business works, who it needs to connect with, and the competitive and cultural context in which it operates. From that understanding, you’ll develop a clear point of view on what the brand should communicate, where it should show up, and how its content can build meaningful connections while supporting business objectives. Your responsibility will extend from research and strategic direction to content concepts, channel strategies, editorial plans, and the teams needed to bring them to life. You’ll work closely with studio leadership, operations, and creative collaborators to ensure the thinking carries through into the finished work. We’re looking for a strategist first, with the creative judgment to develop compelling ideas and the leadership to see them through. Someone who can move between understanding a business, shaping a story, and helping a team make it happen. This is a full-time, ongoing position within Studio Perno, working across recurring client accounts and project-based engagements. What you’ll do Understand the brand and its context Immerse yourself in each client’s business, positioning, offer, audience, and objectives. Review existing brand materials and performance, conduct research, and lead focused conversations to understand both the stated brief and the challenge behind it. Look beyond a brand’s current social media presence. Examine its category, competitors, cultural context, and the motivations and behaviors of the people it wants to reach. Turn that understanding into useful insights and clear strategic choices. Build on established brand foundations where they exist, and work with leadership to clarify positioning, audience priorities, or messaging where the direction is incomplete. Develop content and social media strategy Define the role content and social media should play for each brand, with clear objectives and a reason behind the recommendations. Develop channel strategies, content pillars, recurring series, messaging priorities, tone-of-voice guidance, and approaches to formats and frequency. Decide which platforms deserve attention, what each should contribute, and how the content should adapt to the audience and context of each channel. Create a direction that is recognizably specific to the brand, not a reusable set of categories or a list of trends to follow. Shape the creative direction of content Translate strategic insights into original content ideas, editorial approaches, and campaign concepts. Work with studio leadership and creative collaborators to define the stories, visual references, language, and formats that will express the brand’s point of view. Write briefs that give the team a clear objective, audience insight, central idea, and creative direction. Develop headlines, narrative outlines, or sample copy when needed to make an idea tangible. Stay involved as the work develops. Review concepts, copy, visuals, and edits; give specific, constructive feedback; and help strengthen the work without losing the intention behind it. This role requires more than checking whether something is on-brand, it requires helping make it compelling. Turn the strategy into ongoing plans Build monthly editorial plans and content calendars with clear concepts, formats, channel priorities, and production needs. Create continuity between individual pieces, recurring series, campaigns, and the broader brand narrative. Plan around meaningful business moments, audience needs, and relevant cultural opportunities, while remaining realistic about available resources. Own your planning and briefing deadlines. Anticipate what the team will need, identify missing information early, and bring forward recommendations without waiting for each next step to be assigned. Lead the teams bringing the work to life Lead the day-to-day content work of internal team members and external collaborators, including designers, copywriters, photographers, videographers, and other specialists. Identify the skills and production support each plan requires. Establish clear briefs, responsibilities, and creative expectations, and work with operations/account management to align priorities, resources, timelines, and approvals. Follow the work through development and production. Resolve strategic and creative questions, review progress, and address gaps before they compromise the outcome. You won’t be expected to produce every asset yourself. You will be expected to give the people producing it clear direction and ensure the resulting work delivers on the agreed strategy. Evaluate, learn, and improve Define what success should look like in relation to each client’s objectives. Review available analytics, audience responses, client feedback, and relevant business indicators to understand what the content is contributing. Turn those findings into decisions: what to continue, what to change, what to stop, and what to test next. Use performance reviews to improve the strategy and creative work, not simply to report numbers. Present your thinking clearly to clients and the team, explaining the reasoning behind recommendations and adjusting your point of view when the evidence calls for it. What we’re looking for Experience connecting brand strategy to content. You’ve developed content and social media strategies grounded in a real understanding of a business, its audience, and its positioning. Your work can demonstrate how research and insights informed creative decisions, not just what was published. Strong creative and editorial judgment. You understand storytelling, tone of voice, visual communication, and the relationship between an idea and its execution. You can recognize when work is generic, explain why it falls short, and help the team develop a stronger direction. The ability to lead collaborative work. You’re comfortable briefing creative specialists, setting expectations, giving useful feedback, and managing several streams of work across different clients. You can balance creative ambition with the time, budget, and resources available. Clear thinking and communication. You can make sense of an incomplete brief, form a reasoned recommendation, and explain it in straightforward language. You write well, present confidently, and can challenge an assumption while remaining open to other perspectives. Ownership and curiosity. You take initiative, notice what needs attention, and keep work moving without constant instruction. You’re genuinely interested in brands, culture, and human behavior, and can turn that curiosity into ideas that are relevant to a particular client. Agency or multi-client experience is valuable, as is experience guiding content from strategy through production and reviewing its performance afterward. How you’ll work with the team You’ll work closely with Studio Perno’s leadership on overall brand and creative direction, and with operations/account management on scope, resources, timelines, and delivery. Within that structure, you’ll own the day-to-day strategic development and creative guidance of content for your assigned accounts. You’ll also participate directly in client conversations, presenting recommendations and building confidence in the direction of the work. This is a strategy and creative leadership role, not an all-in-one content execution position. Day-to-day community management, publishing and scheduling, graphic design, photography, video production, and paid-advertising management are not your hands-on responsibilities. Your role is to direct and guide the relevant contributors, not replace every specialist. How to apply Please include: 1. Relevant existing work. Share selected strategies, creative briefs, editorial plans, or campaigns that demonstrate your thinking and how it translated into execution. Explain your contribution and include any results you can substantiate. Redacted examples are welcome. 2. A brief introduction to your approach. Tell us how you get to understand a brand and how you lead the ongoing strategy, creative development, and collaboration around its content. 3. Your availability and compensation expectations. Confirm your availability for a full-time role, your earliest start date, and your expected monthly compensation, including the currency.
