Full-Time Video Editor — Long-Form Interviews & Content Repurposing (Business Credit/Funding Brand)

Worldwide

Summary

Overview I run a business credit and funding education brand for established business owners — people already spending $3K–$10K/month who need capital to scale their ads, inventory, and operations. I'm on Instagram (~15K followers) and YouTube, filming consistently. Right now I edit everything myself — long-form talking-head videos, interviews, and raw client conversations. I need a full-time editor to take that over completely: cutting tight long-form pieces, and pulling the most engaging moments out of longer footage for both long-form and short-form content. This is a hands-on editing role. You'll be in the timeline every day, not just directing someone else's cuts. English must be your first language, and you must be located in the USA, Canada, or Europe. What You'll Actually Do Edit long-form talking-head and interview videos end to end — for YouTube and long-form Instagram/podcast-style content. Cut down raw, unstructured client conversations and interviews into tight, watchable long-form pieces — removing dead air, repetition, and fluff without losing the substance. Pull the most engaging, resonant moments out of longer recordings and turn them into short-form clips (Reels/TikTok/Shorts), with reasoning for why each moment lands with our audience. Apply our format decision tree on every edit: identify the format (talking head, live demo, POV/black-border, voiceover + B-roll), decide if it needs animations, choose music by emotion (emotional / powerful / calm / energetic), and select B-roll type (proof / context / transition / emotion). Maintain our established color grade and visual identity across every video, regardless of shooting conditions. Run every export through our checklist — spelling, audio, color grade, format criteria, file naming, upload to our shared drive, and status update — before anything goes out for review. Take feedback through a structured revision process and get sharper over time, so revisions shrink the longer we work together. What Success Looks Like 30 days: You're independently producing first drafts of long-form edits and short-form clips that need only minor revision notes. 60 days: You're running raw footage and client conversations through the full process with minimal supervision, consistently matching brand style and pacing. 90 days: You fully own editing execution — long-form and short-form — and I'm out of the day-to-day cutting and clipping. You Might Be a Fit If... English is your first language and are located in the USA, Canada or Europe. You have real long-form editing experience — interviews, podcasts, talking-head content, docuseries — not just short-form clipping. You can watch a 30–60 minute raw conversation and immediately know which 5 minutes matter for the long-form cut and which 30 seconds matter for a short. You're equally comfortable cutting a full long-form video and pulling multiple short-form clips from the same source footage. You're proficient in Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or CapCut — any of the three is fine. You understand pacing and tone for an educational/business audience — established business owners, not a casual entertainment audience. You have a strong sense of music-to-emotion pairing and use B-roll with intention, not just to fill space. You're reliable, full-time available, and communicate clearly async — this role runs without daily calls. Hours & Compensation Full-time, ~20-400 hours/week, remote/async. Paid trial first: capped hours at $12–$20/hr to complete the trial task and a first real week of edits. Ongoing: $1,500–$3,000/month based on experience and output, reviewed at 90 days with room to grow. Growth Opportunity As the content engine scales, this role has real room to grow — more responsibility over creative direction, and involvement in building out and directing a broader editing bench over time. This is a ground-floor seat on a brand that's actively scaling, not a task-by-task gig. How to Apply Start your application with the words “RALPHS EDITOR” so I know you read this all the way through. Then send: A portfolio or reel showing both long-form (interview/talking-head) and short-form work — links preferred. One example of raw footage you cut down yourself, with a sentence on why you made the cuts you made. Your availability (confirm full-time, ~30-400 hrs/week) and monthly rate. Shortlisted candidates will get a short, paid trial task before any ongoing offer.
