Functional Consultant MES

We are looking for an experienced MES Functional Consultant to support the design and implementation of a Manufacturing Execution System (MES) for a manufacturing client. The consultant will work closely with business stakeholders, production teams, automation engineers, and the development team to translate manufacturing processes into functional software requirements. Key Responsibilities Understand end-to-end manufacturing processes and production workflows. Conduct requirement gathering workshops with production, quality, maintenance, and operations teams. Define MES functional requirements, business workflows, and user stories. Prepare BRD, FRS, process flow diagrams, and functional specifications. Identify and define core MES modules such as Production Monitoring, OEE, Downtime Management, Quality, Traceability, and Material Consumption. Collaborate with PLC/Automation teams to understand machine data, tags, and industrial communication protocols (OPC UA, Modbus, EtherNet/IP, Profinet, etc.). Work with the development team to ensure the solution aligns with manufacturing best practices. Support UAT, user training, and go-live activities. Required Skills Experience in MES implementation or manufacturing digitalization projects. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and shop-floor operations. Experience with MES platforms such as Rockwell FactoryTalk MES, Siemens Opcenter, AVEVA MES, SAP Digital Manufacturing, GE Proficy, or similar. Good knowledge of OEE, Production Execution, Downtime Management, Quality Management, Traceability, and Material Flow. Familiarity with ISA-95 and manufacturing best practices. Understanding of PLC/SCADA concepts and industrial communication protocols. Experience working with ERP integration (SAP/Oracle/Microsoft Dynamics) is preferred.
