GCP / Firebase Engineer – Infrastructure Audit & Production Migration

I am looking for an experienced GCP/Firebase engineer to assist with the technical handover and migration of a live dating application from its current development provider to a Google Cloud environment fully controlled by my company. The application is already in production with real users. The current production Firebase/GCP infrastructure was originally set up and managed by an external development provider. The provider is expected to collaborate with the handover, but some infrastructure dependencies and access requirements still need to be identified and verified. I am looking for someone who can handle BOTH the initial technical assessment and, ideally, the subsequent migration. PHASE 1 – TECHNICAL ASSESSMENT A substantial amount of the current environment has already been documented, so the objective is not to start the investigation from zero. I will provide an existing technical report describing the known architecture, current situation and identified dependencies. The first task will be to: - review the existing documentation and infrastructure; - review the available source code and Infrastructure-as-Code/Terraform; - identify any missing infrastructure components or external dependencies; - determine what additional access, files, exports or information are required from the current provider; - produce a clear and complete handover checklist for the provider; - assess where the Terraform state is stored and whether anything required for independent deployment is missing; - determine whether the existing production GCP/Firebase project can be transferred to the new organisation; - identify any technical blockers or provider-dependent/shared resources; - determine what genuinely needs to be migrated or rebuilt. I want the assessment to be focused and practical: use the existing documentation first, identify the gaps, and request only the access/information to resolve them. PHASE 2 – MIGRATION / HANDOVER Once the architecture and dependencies have been verified, I am looking for someone who can potentially perform the technical migration/handover in coordination with the existing provider. The preferred approach is to preserve and reuse the existing production environment wherever technically appropriate rather than rebuilding infrastructure unnecessarily. Depending on the audit, the solution may involve: - moving the existing GCP project between organisations; - transferring existing resources and control; - a hybrid migration where only provider-dependent components are recreated; - or migrating/rebuilding specific components if technically required. Production data must be preserved, including Firebase Authentication users, Firestore data, Cloud Storage files and all application data. The final objective is a clean, documented environment that my company can independently operate, maintain and deploy. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE Strong hands-on experience with: - Google Cloud Platform (GCP) - Firebase production environments - Firebase Authentication - Firestore - Cloud Storage - GCP IAM and resource hierarchy - Terraform and Terraform state/backends - CI/CD and deployment infrastructure - GCP project migration / organisation-to-organisation transfers - Production infrastructure migrations with minimal downtime This is a live application, so the initial assessment must be strictly read-only and non-destructive.
