GIS Technician

Defy Technologies is looking for a GIS Technician to support drone-based surveying, mapping, geospatial data processing, and GIS operations. The candidate will work with UAV/drone survey data to create accurate maps, models, measurements, and reports for construction, infrastructure, agriculture, and other applications. Key Responsibilities * Process and analyze drone survey and GIS data. * Generate orthomosaic maps, DSM, DTM/DEM, contours, and 3D models from UAV imagery. * Perform GIS digitization, feature extraction, georeferencing, and map preparation. * Process and manage GPS/RTK and geospatial data. * Conduct coordinate system and projection transformations. * Perform measurements such as area, distance, elevation, and volume. * Identify and correct errors in survey and GIS datasets. * Prepare professional maps, layouts, survey drawings, and client reports. * Integrate drone imagery with GIS datasets and CAD drawings. * Assist the survey team with mission planning and field data collection. * Perform quality checks to ensure accuracy and consistency of deliverables. * Experience with QGIS or ArcGIS. * Basic knowledge of AutoCAD/Civil 3D is an advantage. * Understanding of coordinate systems, projections, GPS, and georeferencing. * Knowledge of orthomosaic, DSM, DEM/DTM, point clouds, and 3D models. * Basic understanding of drone/UAV surveying and photogrammetry. * Familiarity with tools such as Pix4D
