2D Game Artist / Animator Needed – Ongoing Indie Game Work
Worldwide
2D Game Artist / Simple Animator – Ongoing Indie Game Work I'm looking for a 2D artist / animator to help create assets for an active indie farming game. The game already has an established art style, characters, and a large library of existing assets. I'm not looking for someone to reinvent the game's art direction — I need someone who can look at reference assets and create new artwork that fits naturally alongside them. What You'll Be Making Plants with multiple growth stages Funny characters and character variations Buildings and farm decorations Props, items, crates, signs, etc. Simple character animations Small environmental animations/effects Event and quest-related artwork The art style is colorful, cartoony, slightly low-poly/low-detail 2D, designed to remain readable when displayed fairly small in an isometric farming game. A lot of the game has a goofy adult-stoner sense of humor, so being comfortable working with cannabis-themed artwork is important. What I'm Looking For You don't need to be a senior AAA artist. I'm actually open to junior artists or talented newer freelancers who have a good eye, can follow references closely, communicate well, and want consistent work. The biggest things I care about are: Ability to match an existing style Consistency between assets Following instructions and reference images Reasonable turnaround times Basic 2D animation ability Willingness to make revisions when something doesn't quite match This is intended to be ongoing work, not a one-time asset. Budget This is an indie project, so I'm specifically looking for someone with affordable rates who is interested in steady work rather than occasional high-budget commissions. I'm open to hourly or per-asset pricing depending on your workflow. When applying, please include: Examples of your 2D game art. Any examples of simple 2D animation you've done. Your hourly rate or typical per-asset price. Tell me what software you normally use. Start your application with the word FARMER so I know you actually read the post. If you're a newer artist trying to build your portfolio, don't be afraid to apply. I'm much more interested in whether you can match the game's existing style than how many years you've been doing this.
