Game Development / Narrative Design / UI-UX — Interactive Story Mobile App

About the Project Mobile interactive storytelling game inspired by apps such as Romance Club, Episode, and Choices. The goal is to create a polished, highly interactive story experience built around meaningful choices, branching narratives, character relationships, customization, progression, and replayability. Our audience is primarily young adult and adult players. While romance is an important part of the experience, we are not building an erotica-focused app. We want emotionally engaging, mature stories with strong characters, compelling drama, humor, mystery, horror, romance, and choices that genuinely affect the player's experience. We are currently building the core team and are looking for freelancers across several areas. We're Looking For: You may specialize in one of the following areas — you do NOT need to do all of them. -Game Developer We’re looking for someone experienced in mobile game development who can help build the technical foundation of the app. Potential responsibilities include: • Interactive dialogue and story systems • Branching choices and conditional scenes • Relationship and personality variables • Save/load and cloud progression • Player profiles • In-game currencies and rewards • Character customization systems • Shops and inventories • Premium and free choices • In-app purchases • Analytics integration • Content management/update systems • iOS and Android deployment • Building tools that allow new stories and chapters to be added efficiently Experience with narrative games, visual novels, choice-based games, or mobile live-service games is a major plus. -Narrative Designer This is not primarily a prose-writing position. We are already hiring writers separately. We need someone who understands how to turn stories into interactive game systems. Potential responsibilities include: • Designing branching narrative structures • Creating meaningful choice systems • Relationship/romance progression • Character stats and hidden variables • Premium vs. free choice design • Route design • Delayed consequences • Alternate scenes and endings • Replayability systems • Chapter pacing • Choice frequency • Narrative economy design • Creating templates and guidelines for writers • Working with writers to turn linear concepts into interactive experiences • Collaborating with developers on narrative implementation We especially value candidates who understand the difference between simply giving the player dialogue options and designing choices that create real consequences and replay value. -UI/UX Designer We’re looking for someone who can design a polished mobile experience appropriate for a premium interactive storytelling app. Potential screens and systems include: • Home/discover page • Story library • Story detail pages • Reading interface • Choice interface • Character profiles • Player profile • Currency displays • Shop • Rewards • Daily systems • Settings • Story progress • Wardrobe/customization • Events • Onboarding Experience with games, entertainment apps, fashion apps, or interactive fiction is especially interesting to us. What We're NOT Looking For: We are not expecting one freelancer to be a developer, narrative designer, UI designer, writer, illustrator, animator, and project manager.
