Game Producer for Small Indie Studio

Summary

We're a small indie studio shipping our second commercial title on Steam, a cozy-spooky, PS1-era arcade incremental game. The team is a handful of part-time contractors (gameplay engineer, tech artist, 3D artist, 2D artist) working async. This producer role is focused on coordinating game design, art, and programming and moving the project forward through Trello and other tasks. This role is NOT: game design, creative vision, unity programming, creating 2D or 3D art assets This starts at roughly 5 hours/week. ## What you'll do 1. Turn video direction into Tello tasks Each week I record a video of myself playing the current Unity build and calling out what needs to change. You'll turn that into well-formed Trello task cards, clear title, enough context, and written acceptance criteria describing what "done" looks like. 2. Verify work and give feedback When a Trello task comes back from our programmer or artist, you pull the Unity build check it against the acceptance criteria. If it doesn't meet the bar, you send it back with specific, constructive feedback 3. Steam page and Steamworks Set up and maintain the store page: description copy, tags, asset uploads, depot and build configuration, demo branch, achievements. 4. Festival submissions, press kit Track deadlines and complete submissions for Steam Next Fest and indie showcases. Maintain the press kit. 5. Keep the team unblocked Coordinate handoffs between contractors, when the 3D artist delivers a model, make sure it reaches the tech artist and then the engineer. Chase blockers. 6. Play the build and propose tasks yourself (nice to have) If you have strong game sense and want to proactively flag problems we've missed, that's valuable ## What we're looking for - Judgment about game quality. You need to be able to look at a piece of work and tell the difference between "not done" and "good enough to ship." Not just "does it match the ticket" but "does it feel right." - Excellent written english - Experience with Trello/JIRA/Asana/task tracking systems - Bonus: Experience making Steam games and familiar with Steamworks - Bonus: Familiarity with incremental/idle games, or cozy games ## Screening Question Test Example Task Video: https://www.loom.com/share/407fd3584ee74cf3b0d6bdbbbeb053bc Example Trello card for another task our team used: Title: "Add new SFX for ball rolling on ramp" Body: "Implement the BallRollRamp SFX. This SFX should start playing when the player releases their mouse to throw the ball, and it should stop playing when the ball hops up the ramp. So it only plays while the ball is on contact with the ramp up Acceptance Criteria: - SFX plays when the ball is rolling on the ramp - SFX stops when ball is up in air - SFX plays individually for multiple balls at the same time"
