3D Generalist — Hard-Surface Modeling, Look-Dev + Mechanical Animation (Blender preferred)

VIA Productions is making a short animated training demo built around a NOTIONAL turboprop engine. We already have a licensed sectioned engine model as the base. You add the parts that act — a fuel-nozzle assembly (nozzle/sheath/seal), boss/flange, and related hardware — as separable named solids, shade and light them to a locked look, then animate nine short procedural scenes (~90 seconds: part extractions, insertions, explodes, camera moves) from our approved animatic on a locked 30 fps grid. We render, composite, and do all graphics. START: the week of August 10 — we are screening and contracting in the next few days. Working windows agreed at kickoff; incremental delivery. WHAT MAKES IT SPECIFIC - SEPARABILITY: every new part is its own named, complete, closed manifold solid with a specified origin — including geometry hidden when assembled. Parts get pulled out of the assembly on camera. - DOCUMENTATION LOOK, NOT HERO: achromatic machined metal, low contrast, dark neutral field — and it must read as real hardware (bevelled edges, machined shoulders, structural wall thickness). HARD REQUIREMENTS — apply only if all four are a yes 1. RIGHTS: work-for-hire with full assignment, or a perpetual worldwide sublicensable buyout including government use. 2. ORIGINAL WORK ONLY: no purchased models, kitbash packs, scans, or marketplace assets in your deliverables. (The base model is ours and licensed — you build onto it, you don't copy from it.) 3. NO GENERATIVE AI anywhere in the pipeline; any AI assistance must be disclosed. 4. NOTIONAL ONLY: nothing modeled from any real engine's drawings, CAD, manuals, or photos. PROCESS: short paid screening exercise in the next few days (separate contract, paid regardless of outcome) → contract + 30-min kickoff → build → animate. Blender 4.5 strongly preferred; Maya/Max/C4D possible with a proven clean FBX/USD round-trip. TO APPLY: link 2–3 hard-surface MECHANICAL pieces (a wireframe or outliner screenshot is a big plus) and one mechanical ANIMATION example (exploded view, assembly/disassembly — not character work).
