German Translator - Financial, Marketing & Legal Content We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented German Translator to support the localization of financial UI, marketing materials, and legal copy. The ideal candidate will have strong experience translating specialized content from English into German, with the ability to maintain accuracy, clarity, cultural relevance, and brand consistency across different content types. This is a part-time, long-term freelance role, ideal for someone who enjoys working on high-quality localization projects and wants to contribute their language expertise to a growing international product. Responsibilities - Translate or post-ai-edit financial product UI, website content, marketing copy, legal disclaimers, help center articles, and user communications from English into German. - Ensure translations are accurate, natural, culturally appropriate, and aligned with German market expectations. - Adapt copy where needed to preserve tone, intent, and user experience rather than translating word-for-word. - Maintain consistency in terminology, style, and brand voice across all translated materials. - Provide feedback on source copy when wording may cause ambiguity or localization issues. - Support updates to glossaries, style guides, and translation memory where applicable. Requirements - Native-level fluency in German and excellent command of English. - Proven experience translating financial, fintech, legal, or regulated industry content. - Strong understanding of German financial terminology and user-facing product language. - Ability to translate both precise legal/financial copy and engaging marketing content. - Excellent attention to detail and commitment to linguistic quality. - Familiarity with CAT tools, translation management systems, glossaries, and style guides. - Ability to meet deadlines and manage part-time workload independently. - Previous experience with UI localization or app/web product translation is highly preferred. Nice to Have - Experience working with fintech, trading, banking, crypto, payments, or investment products. - Familiarity with compliance-sensitive content and legal disclaimers. - Experience reviewing machine translation output or working in a localization QA process. - Knowledge of German market tone, regulatory sensitivities, and financial customer expectations.
