Unfortunately, many discover that obtaining the degree is only the beginning. The Global Legal Residency is designed to provide the practical experience, mentorship, systems training, and attorney development necessary to become an outstanding U.S.-focused legal professional. Residents work directly with experienced U.S. attorneys on real client matters while receiving ongoing coaching, feedback, and structured professional development. ________________________________________ What Makes This Different This is not a document review position. This is not a virtual assistant role. This is not simply another remote legal research position. Instead, the program is designed to help exceptional attorneys develop: • U.S. legal judgment • Business law sophistication • Litigation strategy • Transactional drafting • Client communication • AI-assisted legal practice • Professional writing • Leadership skills • Law firm operations • Long-term career development Our goal is to develop attorneys who become indispensable members of sophisticated legal teams. ________________________________________ Compensation & Career Progression This is a full-time position. The Global Legal Residency follows a structured compensation progression designed to reward demonstrated growth and increasing responsibility. Initial Residency Starting Compensation: $600 per month Residents begin by learning the firm's systems, workflows, drafting standards, AI tools, and expectations while contributing meaningful legal work under attorney supervision. Progressive Career Development As Residents successfully complete defined milestones and demonstrate increasing competence, compensation is expected to increase by approximately $200 per month at each stage of progression. Illustrative progression: • Global Legal Resident I — $700/month • Global Legal Resident II — $800/month • Global Legal Resident III — $1,000/month • Global Legal Associate — $1,200/month • Senior Global Legal Associate — $1,400/month • Additional advancement opportunities based on performance, responsibility, and business needs. Progression is performance-based, not automatic. Advancement depends upon demonstrated competence, ownership, reliability, work quality, communication, and alignment with firm values. Exceptional performers may ultimately transition into substantially more senior legal, management, or leadership roles. ________________________________________ Responsibilities Residents may assist with: • Legal research • Contract drafting • Corporate transactions • Litigation support • Bankruptcy matters • Due diligence • Discovery • Motion drafting • Corporate governance • Knowledge management • AI-assisted legal workflows • Internal legal education • Process improvement • Client support • Special projects Assignments will become increasingly sophisticated as residents progress through the program. ________________________________________ Training Residents receive structured training in areas including: • U.S. legal writing • Transactional drafting • Commercial litigation • Corporate law • Legal research • Microsoft Word • AI-assisted legal practice • Prompt engineering • Law firm systems • Client service • Professional communication • Knowledge management • Legal technology • Project management • Practice management Training is integrated into daily work rather than separated from it. ________________________________________ Qualifications Applicants must: • Hold a law degree. • Be licensed to practice law in at least one non-U.S. jurisdiction. • Have earned an LL.M. from an ABA-accredited U.S. law school. • Demonstrate excellent written and spoken English. • Be intellectually curious. • Enjoy learning. • Be comfortable using AI tools. • Be willing to receive coaching and continuous feedback. • Have reliable internet and professional home-office equipment. ________________________________________ Work Schedule • Full-time • Fully remote • Mandatory Sync Hours: 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM Pacific Time, Monday through Friday • Additional work may be completed outside mandatory collaboration hours. ________________________________________ Technology Requirements Applicants must have: • Reliable high-speed internet • Modern computer • Professional webcam • Professional microphone • Quiet workspace • Ability to participate in video meetings • Willingness to use Upwork's automatic time tracker • Willingness to use Microsoft Teams, Microsoft 365, AI tools, and firm technology platforms ________________________________________ Our Culture We believe exceptional attorneys are built through discipline, mentorship, feedback, and ownership.
