About the Role We're looking for a reliable IT support professional to help our team on an as-needed basis. This is not a managed IT or monthly retainer position. Instead, we're looking for someone we can reach out to when we need assistance with onboarding, offboarding, account administration, or occasional technical issues. We support several small businesses and are looking to build a long-term relationship with someone who is responsive, dependable, and comfortable working independently. Typical Responsibilities Onboard new employees and contractors Offboard departing team members Configure Windows and Mac computers for remote users Set up and manage Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 accounts Configure email, Google Drive, OneDrive, and user permissions Set up multi-factor authentication (MFA) Install and configure common business software Assist with password manager setup (1Password preferred) Troubleshoot login, software, printer, and basic workstation issues Answer occasional IT questions and provide remote support Applications We Use New team members will typically need access to the following applications: -Google Workspace -Microsoft 365 -Slack -Zoom -Monday.com -Harvest -Ramp -QuickBooks Online -1Password -Other cloud-based business applications Your role is not to administer these platforms from a business operations perspective. Rather, you'll help new users get set up, ensure they can access the appropriate applications, troubleshoot login or synchronization issues, and verify everything is working properly. What We're Looking For Excellent English communication Strong troubleshooting skills Experience supporting remote teams Google Workspace and/or Microsoft 365 administration experience Organized, responsive, and dependable Security-conscious Able to explain technical issues in simple, non-technical language Available during U.S. business hours for occasional support Interested in building a long-term working relationship Hours & Engagement This is an hourly, as-needed position. Most weeks there may be no work at all. When work is needed, it's typically a 30–60 minute task, such as onboarding a contractor, configuring a laptop, or troubleshooting an issue. Occasionally there may be a larger project lasting a few hours. We're looking for someone who is comfortable with these smaller engagements and does not require a monthly minimum or retainer.
