JML Management is a growing small business focused on government contracting, facilities support, project management, property management, and business operations. We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Government Contracting & Business Development Coordinator to help identify opportunities, manage our CRM, build strategic relationships, and support contract pursuits. This is a long-term remote position with opportunities for growth into an Operations Manager or Business Development Manager role. Position Overview The Government Contracting & Business Development Coordinator will be responsible for researching government opportunities, maintaining CRM, conducting outreach to agencies and prime contractors, managing vendor relationships, tracking proposals, and supporting the overall growth of JML Management. This position requires someone who is organized, detail-oriented, comfortable learning new systems, and able to work independently. Key Responsibilities Government Opportunity Research Search SAM.gov, eVA, GSA resources, and other procurement portals daily. Research federal, state, and local government contracting opportunities. Identify subcontracting opportunities with prime contractors. Research expiring contracts and incumbent contractors. Maintain an active opportunity pipeline. CRM Management Create and maintain contact records. Build and manage pipelines. Create custom properties and contact segmentation. Build and maintain workflows and automations. Update notes, tasks, and follow-up reminders. Eliminate duplicate records. Generate weekly CRM reports. Business Development Research target agencies. Research prime contractors. Identify Small Business Liaisons. Build targeted prospect lists. Send capability statements. Schedule introductory meetings. Track outreach activity and responses. Maintain follow-up schedules. Vendor Management Build and maintain the Preferred Vendor Database. Research contractors and suppliers. Request W-9s, Certificates of Insurance (COI), licenses, and capability statements. Verify qualifications and service areas. Track vendor onboarding progress. Proposal Coordination Download solicitations. Organize proposal documents. Maintain compliance checklists. Track deadlines. Coordinate required documentation. Monitor proposal status through award. Required Qualifications Experience with CRM (TBC) Strong organizational and project management skills Excellent written and verbal English communication Internet research experience Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Google Workspace Experience with ChatGPT or other AI productivity tools Ability to manage multiple deadlines independently Preferred Qualifications Government contracting experience Proposal coordination Federal or state procurement knowledge Business development experience CRM workflow automation Vendor management Property management or facilities management experience Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Daily Review new opportunities Update CRM Complete scheduled follow-ups Weekly Research 25+ government opportunities Contact 15+ prime contractors or agency contacts Add 20+ qualified contacts to HubSpot Onboard 10+ new vendors Send 10+ capability statements Schedule at least 3 introductory meetings Deliver a weekly opportunity and outreach report Monthly Increase qualified opportunities in the pipeline Expand the preferred vendor network Improve CRM data quality Strengthen agency and prime contractor relationships Tools You'll Use CRM Microsoft Excel Google Workspace ChatGPT Canva (basic) SAM.gov eVA LinkedIn Microsoft Teams Zoom What Success Looks Like Within the first 60 days, you will: Build and maintain an organized CRM. Develop an active pipeline of government opportunities. Establish relationships with agencies and prime contractors. Create a well-organized preferred vendor database.
