🧠 PAID CHALLENGE • $25 Book Cover Design, front only (assesses print design skill and brand feel) • → $25 Product Mockup Image using your cover (assesses Photoshop/PSD production skill) • → Long-term hourly contract at $15-20/hr: 3 complete book covers, ~30 product images, and ongoing design work year-round This challenge tests both your print design ability and your production skill. • The book cover assesses how you handle a real brand, real photos, and print specs. • The product image tests how cleanly you work inside existing PSD templates. 👋 WHO WE ARE We're Pediatrics Board Review (PBR), a physician-founded company that helps pediatricians pass their board exams. We've helped over 10,000 doctors, including those who failed for over 10 years, finally pass. We're not a marketplace or tech platform. We're a small, trusted brand making a big impact. 💡 WHY THIS PROJECT MATTERS Every year we refresh our book covers and all our product images for the new edition. These images live on our website, our books, and our ads all year. This year's refresh replaces our old covers with new photography and our updated brand. The designer who wins this becomes our go-to designer, the same way our previous designer worked with us for years. 🎨 PHASE 1 (PAID TEST): BOOK COVER, FRONT ONLY • Deliverable: 1 front book cover for our Core Study Guide (8.5 x 11 proportions) • Compensation: $25 • Turnaround: 24-48 hours • Tools: Adobe Photoshop (a hard requirement for the ongoing work) What we give you: • A complete design brief (sizes, brand colors, fonts, exact cover text) • The hero photo (already cut out on a transparent background) • Our 2026 cover as the layout reference • Our full logo kit What we want to see: 2-3 style directions if you can (professional & clean, playful & professional, or a blend). Show us YOUR take. 🖼️ PHASE 2 (SAME ROUND): PRODUCT MOCKUP IMAGE • Deliverable: 1 product representation image with YOUR new cover placed into it • Compensation: $25 • We provide the existing PSD template; you update it with your cover and our current branding. 📌 THE GROUND RULES (please read before applying) • NO AI-generated design work. Our final deliverables are layered PSD files and it will be obvious. Recent AI-generated submissions were rejected. If AI generation is your workflow, this isn't the right job. • All text comes from our templates VERBATIM. Never retype or invent copy. Only the edition year changes. • Deliver your trial as PNG/WebP/JPEG with a DRAFT watermark. You do NOT need to send us PSDs for the trial. We are not taking your work; this is a paid evaluation, and everyone who completes it gets paid and gets a good review. • Tell us how long each piece took you. This is part of how we compare. • We give you everything upfront so there's minimal back-and-forth. Questions are welcome, but read the brief first. 💰 COMPENSATION SUMMARY • Phase 1 - Book Cover (front): $25 • Phase 2 - Product Mockup: $25 • Winner: long-term hourly contract, $15-20/hr. First engagement: 3 complete print-ready covers (full wrap: front, spine, back) + ~30 product images, then ongoing work through the year.
