Hardware Engineer Needed – Design 4K60 12G-SDI Video Capture Card (PCIe or USB)

I’m looking to engage an experienced hardware/electrical engineer to design a high-performance SDI video capture card capable of handling 4K60 video over 12G-SDI. The card should interface with a host system via either PCIe Gen2 x4 or USB 3.0, depending on what’s more efficient and realistic for the application. Scope of Work: • Complete schematic design • High-speed multilayer PCB layout (with controlled impedance for SDI signal integrity) • Generation of all manufacturing files: Gerber, BOM, Pick-and-Place, Assembly Drawings • Selection of a suitable SDI receiver (e.g., Semtech GS12170 or equivalent) • Integration of an FPGA or SDI-to-USB bridge for interfacing with the host system • Compliance with SMPTE standards (ST 2082-1 for 12G-SDI, and backward compatibility) • Power supply design, clocking architecture, and clean signal routing • Design for EMI/ESD protection, thermal stability, and manufacturability • Optional: Basic firmware or bitstream for SDI capture and data transmission • Optional: Guidance on driver development for host OS (Windows/Linux) Target Capabilities: • Input: 1x SDI (BNC) supporting 12G/6G/3G/HD/SD • Video resolution: up to 4096×2160 @ 60fps, 8/10/12-bit • Uncompressed, low-latency video stream to host • Compact, reliable hardware suitable for professional/medical use Can you please review the scope and let me know: 1.
