Hiring Talkding head YouTube Video Editor + Animation | Ongoing Projects

We’re looking for a strong video editor for ongoing YouTube long-form content and occasional VSL projects. The main work will be YouTube videos, typically around 15–20 minutes. The first project is a short VSL of approximately 2 minutes. YOUTUBE STYLE The YouTube editing style we’re looking for is similar to Daniel Bitton. The overall feel should be: - Energetic - Humorous when appropriate - Fast enough to stay engaging without feeling over-edited - Good use of B-roll, screenshots, memes, zooms, animation and text to keep the pacing strong - Personality-driven, while still being clear and easy to follow - Not overloaded with effects that do not actually improve the video ABOUT THE CONTENT The content is mainly: - Talking-head videos - YouTube long-form - Tutorial / educational content about clipping and content distribution - Business / creator-focused content - Occasional VSLs - Content that can be energetic, humorous and personality-driven when appropriate The editing often uses: - B-roll - Screenshots - UI - Real results / proof - Data and numbers - Memes when appropriate - Animation / visual explanations WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR We’re looking for someone who understands when a section needs visual support, when it should stay simple, and when a bit of humor or a meme can make the video more engaging. The editing style should include: - Clear and easy-to-understand visual explanations - B-roll, screenshots, UI and real proof when useful - Animation when appropriate - Memes or humorous visuals when they genuinely fit the context - Good pacing and energy - Clean and purposeful zoom-ins / zoom-outs - Strong visual storytelling - Knowing which moments should be illustrated and which moments should stay as talking head - Using visuals to make the content easier to understand, more credible and more engaging - Using screenshots, proof, numbers and real examples to build trust - No unnecessary effects just for the sake of making the video look heavily edited FIRST PROJECT The first project is a VSL of approximately 2 minutes. The raw cut is already completed. We already have: - Visual direction - Screenshots - Reference material - Context to help the editor understand the project These directions are there to make the editing process easier, but the editor is welcome to adapt or change the visual approach if something works better in practice. For the VSL style, we’re aiming for: - Clean and clear direct-response editing - Talking head as the main focus - Clear visual support for key points - Screenshots, UI, proof, numbers and B-roll when relevant - Simple animations to explain ideas - Professional and credible - Focused on making the message easy to understand and building trust - Not overly flashy WE PREFER SOMEONE WHO: - Understands clipping: turning long-form content into short-form content and distributing it through clipping networks / campaigns - Can gradually understand the context well enough to make visual decisions without needing detailed direction for every section - Has strong English listening and comprehension skills, and can join calls when needed - Can notice and double-check obvious English or grammar mistakes in on-screen text while editing - Is comfortable creating animations when the video needs them - Has experience with talking-head YouTube content and/or VSLs - Communicates clearly - Can provide progress updates and flag possible delays in advance - Is interested in a long-term collaboration There may also be other types of projects in the future, such as: - Online courses - Interviews - Other long-form content HOW TO APPLY Please include: 1. 2–3 portfolio examples that you believe are the closest match to this editing style. 2. Relevant experience. You can include previous YouTube work, VSLs, talking-head videos, business content, or similar projects. If possible, please include some proof that you actually worked on those projects, such as published video links, channel/client names, project files, timeline screenshots, or a brief explanation of the specific parts you were responsible for. We simply want to make sure the portfolio accurately reflects the work you personally contributed to. 3. Short visual-thinking question: The VSL includes a section explaining how an agency takes existing long-form content from a creator or brand and sends it to a large network of clippers. The clippers are trained and given clear guidelines on how to choose hooks, edit the content, and follow the campaign requirements. They then turn the original content into many short-form videos and distribute them through different accounts across TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts. The goal is to help the creator or brand repeatedly appear in viewers’ feeds and increase their overall reach instead of relying only on one main account. How would you visualize this section?
